Chapter 1 - The past

My name is Katherina Hart as you already know. I am seventeen years old soon to be eighteen and I am normal high school student or maybe not. From the outside I am a good girl, but from the inside I am not really the usual goodie two shoes.

But like always there are things that no one knows.

I always liked to keep my life hidden from the others. It's all because of my past. One and only reason I am living for the last ten years away from my beautiful home. My New York, the best city in the world. When I was eight I had to leave everything behind and go live with my mom's best friend Lisa from college and her husband Vincent. They become my parents.

You are probably interested why I left New York. Well my last name definitely isn't Hart it's Gold. My full name is Katherina Rafaella Gold. And I am one and only heiress to my family fortune.

There are many people that wanted me dead. They already killed my mother, also they kidnapped me and tried to kill me. Fortunately I escaped and my dad sent me away in Manchester to keep me safe and alive.

I met lots of people and every now and then I can read in the newspapers that people are looking for me. You would think they care, but they just want my dad's money and power.

I was going in Charlton High school in Manchester and to say my life was boring it would be an understandment. There were rules: don't attract any attention on you, be the good girl, don't trust anyone and study hard. Those were the rules my father established when I was leaving.

It was ten years since I last heard of my dad. I only see him on the news or in the newspapers. When I left he promised me that I can go back home when I turn eighteen. And my eighteen birthday is only one week away.

He made sure that I am going to be prepared when I came back in New York so I can take his position as a CEO of Gold Enterprise.

The best part of me going home is revenge. I can't let people walk around freely when they killed my mother, kidnapped me and destroyed my whole family.
