Scarlett lay awake on her bed, doing nothing more then thinking.

After she had told Chris what he meant to her, nothing happened. Of course they continued walking to her apartment, however that is not what she meant. She couldn't tell what he was thinking in the moment. Even now she was wide awake contemplating whether she had made the right decision.

Chris meant everything, but did she really want to risk their friendship?

Every time she was around him, she got butterflies in her stomach, she smiled and laughed uncontrollably around him. He was her happiness.

After Ryan told her that Chris felt something for her, she couldn't help but be happy. Help but think, maybe there's a chance.

Scarlett mentally cursed herself when a thought came up. What if he had someone?

He's probably taking pity on me, she thought. He was probably just being nice because of how ignorant I was. Honestly, she thought, how could I have just accepted Ryan's proposal that easily?

But would he do all those things just because of pity? He hugs and cuddles everyone girl friend he has right? No, he doesn't...Scarlett answered her own question.

Scarlett found her pale face turning a light shade of pink at the memory.

Chris's arm wrapped protectively around her slim waist. His heartbeat beating faster then normally as she rested her head on his chest. She melted into his touch and she couldn't help but want to curl up next to him and take in the faded smell of cologne she came to fall in love with. Whenever the morning rolled around she wanted Chris to stay. Stay with her like that forever, but they both knew how bad that would look if Chris stayed for long.

After she told him what he was to her, they began as normal. As if nothing happened. It both scared and enlightened Scarlett that he didn't bring it up.

He was probably trying to protect Scarlett from embarrassment, or he accepted what she had said.

"Why are guys so difficult!" The blonde groaned into her pillow which muffled her voice.

"Especially guys that are older than me." She mumbled again.

Scarlett sat up, acknowledging the fact she was not going back to bed any time soon.

"Bailey." Scarlett whispered whilst stroking her puppy's silky brown fur. Her puppy instantly woke up, jolting with excitement.

"You wanna go for a walk?" She babied talked her puppy who jumped up with excitement.

"Let's go Bailey. At least I can always count on you." She smiled fondly.
