While I was exhausted it had taken a while to get to sleep. I had left the rifle in a sewer near the fence edge of the dead zone and the limits of town. When I got home looking on a map I had realized that the opposite end of town to the bone yard was the governor's 'temporary' mansion. They had built it when they had settled Legoland as the new state capital and government safe zone. This had left all the architecture of a Springfalls with enough to surround it by a high wire fence. I Never really knew why they surrounded the town by the high wire fence. After all, it's not like it's going to keep the virus out. The town and the Internet were full of fake news. I guess building a wire fence was easier than trying to find out what is the real cause of everyones problems were. I would have to get a look around the capital building so how. The bone fields so large other end of town could even have included the governor willy's mansion.

I was still stone cold in bed when I heard my mother get up and turn the radio news on.

"In more news today. The cities sewers are being reported as having been infested with antelope, and wildebeest. City officials Fub Rainer said. 'this is the result of people buying antelope and wildebeest in pet stores. We all know they look cute as young animals but the idiots out there don't realize they don't state that small forever. I reckon when they get bigger, people have been flushing them down the toilets and now the sewers are infested with them. A couple of my boys swear they've seen some gazelles down there, it's only a matter of time before the smell of them attracts a lion or tiger or something. It's going to cost millions to cull this problem to size. We are looking for anyone with bush hunting experience..'."

I got up and despite feeling sluggish, got dressed and ready for school. My sister was going to be be picked up by some friends of hers. We had made her promise to check the name of the building she was entering and if it didn't have the words college or school in it not to enter.  It was time to go to school I left the front door making sure it wasn't locked so Mom could get out. You can imagine my surprise I discovered Alexander Strong's limousine in the road. I went over and the bodyguard was standing next to the door to open it for me. I didn't get in, but I leaned down. In the back was Alexander Strong and another woman.

"Hi," said Alexander. "I said I would be here at 9 o'clock to pick you up."

I thought for a second. It was near 9 o'clock in the morning. When he hadn't turned up on Saturday night, I presumed he had forgotten all about me. I haven't been that worried since he seemed to be as infected as every body else.

"It's coming up to 9 o'clock in the morning," I said. "who's your friend?" I said pointing nodding at the girl with the champagne glass.

"This is my sister Emily." said Alex.

"Hi," said Emily raising a champagne glass.

"What happened to your other sister?" I said. I could see a family resemblance even though Emily looked quite stunning and Alexander was as jaw droppingly wonderful as ever.

Alexander thought hard "Megan ? I'm not sure. I must have left her somewhere. She will turn up she always does. Anyway I thought you would like to come to the party."

I still wasn't sure why this kept happening. He had kept turning up after me like a lost puppy dog. This all didn't seem right for some reason and it seemed wrong to keep stringing him along.

"I'm sorry, I don't have anything to wear to the governor's party," I said.

"That's okay," said Emily smiling "that's why Alexander brought me along. He's given me the company credit card he was going to spend a few million buying a property in London but now he wants me to spend the companies money on buying you a new dress. Smiley face. "

I got the feeling that Emily was nicer than her sister Megan.

"I also got school. I have the exam coming up in a few days" I said.

"oh the exam I remembered that. I failed that last year. I was really sad. But life goes on, is there any more champagne left? " said Emily.

"No but there is some caviar that we should finish up," said Alexander.

"Well if you don't want to come you don't want to come. sad face ☹️" said Emily reaching for the door to close it "I don't think we should force the young lady, you don't want another court order like the last one."

I stood up and turned to walk to school. I guess you're asking yourself if I'm really not one of the possessed. At this point I might agree with you. Yes, I did want to fail the test and turning up to school was there to help be get through. I stopped turned around I knocked on the window. It wound down slowly with an electrical motion.

"This fundraiser is at governor Willy's house?" I said.

"Yes," said Alexander.

"OK you talked me into it," I said.

"I always do," said Alexander.

"He can talk anyone into anything," said Emily while the driver got out and came to open the door for me. "Once he talked me into a pair of flats. Wow that was a weird day. Relived face 😌". Emily seemed to be the first person I had ever met who talked in emoticons.

Alexander told the driver to tell the computer to drive Emily and I out of town to an incredibly expensive mall on the high way. He had something to do business wise he said and left us.
