Rejecting The Future Moon Goddess[Rejection Series]

The growls of the soulless could be heard as their glowing red eyes peered at us from the forest. Their attack was coming. I could feel the way their breaths floated, that foul stench filling the area.

"Mika call you warriors and get the children, elders and anyone who can not fight to safety." I order and watch as his face changes from the hopeless pup to an alpha, his eyes glossing over as I assume he was mind linking everyone.

"Riv get ready and everyone shift." I growl out as I see my pack come to join us.

The tearing of clothes and flesh moving brought a new sound above the growls until we were all in wolf form.

I shook my fur out as the first of the soulless rushed to the front, giving me barely any time to draw on my powers and create a wall of rock around the pack house. This would protect it for now.

[Gemi, behind you!] Ariven's voice booms in my head and I quickly turn in time to claw at a raging soulless. These were different from the others. They were more wild, feral.

The stench of death and decay was higher then usual and I couldn't help but gag as it's dark black blood spills onto my fur. This seemed to enrage them as it forced itself past my claws, it's teeth taking a hold of the side of my face as I yelp.

I was pissed.

Fire engulfs my body as I step closer to the wolf, growling and letting the flames reach out. The smell of charge and burning flesh replaced the stench of death and within minutes ashes stood where the soulless was.

The smell of fear could be scented throughout the area as I slowly walk towards the fighting, burning whatever soulless that was by itself.

That's when I heard it.

A long lonely howl off in the distance.

The soulless perk up and with a final growl from them they run off and dissapear. But I knew that howl.

It still brought nightmares to me now.

"Geminie they're gone, you can put out your flames." A voice reaches out to me and I growl. Glaring at the person as my flames burn brighter.

"What the hell is wrong with her?" Some one questions angrily and I watch as the man goes to reach for me. Big mistake as my flames reaches out and burns his hand, his scream of pain filling the air.

"Don't touch her. Her powers are protecting her from enemies." The first one yes at the idiot who had his hand in a puddle of water.

"I'm not her enemy, I'm her mate."

"Some mate. Everyone abused her for years because your beta decided to get revenge on the moon Goddess and got your parents killed for their stupidity." This man was angry at the idiot and I relaxed a bit around him.

"Just sit there and stay quiet." He orders before turning back to me and giving me a smile.

"Gemi you're safe let down your flames." I growl, not wanting to let go of my shield.

"Its okay." Slowly his arms reach out and into the flames, I hear him wince but he doesn't stop until his fingers brush the top of my head.

It seems like my flames were giving him a passage and as his fingers massaged my fur I slowly relaxed under his touch until my flames were completely put out and I was cradled in his lap, relishing in the feel of having my fur played with.

"There we go Gem, you're safe." Ariven. He was the one who held me.

"Good, you can let go of her now." I growl out as I turn to look at Mika.

"Guess she would rather stay with me." Ariven said smugly and I couldn't help but nip his hand and stare at him. I was still mad at him for hiding so much from me but happy he had my back.

[Do you want to go for a shower then watch a movie?] Ariven asks me through mind link and I nodd, getting off of him and stretching. I was about to trot away from Mika when his voice reaches my ear.

"Gem, that howl. It's him isn't it." I turn to look at him and nodd slowly.

"Be careful and make sure he is with you then."
