Chapter 17 Lost round

The team decided to leave the underworld again, since the rate of criminals was just too high for them and no one wanted to help them. At least Frost could recover very good. The entire team left Underworld then. Except for Nick and Glaz, who tried to find Mr. Big and ask him for help. Switch split apart from the group and went into a clothing-shop. There she searched through some clothes and randomly looked into a mirror beside her. There she saw costumers and workers, but her eyes stood still when she saw a masked rabbit, which pulled out a gun and fired without a warning. She felt the pain shooting through her back and shoulder. It was too much, so she fell and got covered by clothes and the world around her turned black.

At the same time somewhere on the plaza of united species.

Jenny and Mary, who felt much better now and was able to walk slowly again, wanted to find out more about Zootopia and do some sightseeing in their free time. They had there shocker-guns with them, so what could go wrong. Mary looked through the crowd because she thought she had seen something weird. Her eyes stood still on one bunny. It wore a black ski-mask and pulled out a small Uzi-gun. She fired without warning and the bullets pierced through Mary's and Jenny's backs and chests. But it was not-aimed shooting. Mary knew, they would survive and that the shooter did it on purpose. Jenny just felt pain and something warm, drooling down her legs and her back. Judy couldn't believe what she just did, she shot her own sister and her boyfriend's sister.

1 hour later in Tundra-town, at Mr. Big's mansion.

"Who is this wolf Nicky?" Mr. Big asked and lift up his eyebrows. "'This wolf' has a name. It's Anthony Glaz." the grey-wolf answered for Nick and looked down at the chinchilla, who was the most feared gangster in Zootopia. The polar-bears behind Glaz moved up to him and roared quietly. One even grabbed onto Glaz his shoulder, who quickly turned around and turned the arm of the bear on its back. The bear roared in pain and the others pulled out there guns. Glaz looked around, but didn't let go of the bear. "Let go of him soldier." Mr. Big said. "I have full respect for guys with big balls and you got bigger balls than anyone else in this room. Well except for Nicky here." Nick made a proud face for some reason and Glaz let go of the bear. The bear got up again and held his arm. "I told you don't mess with him Kevin." Nick said, causing the bear to grumble again. He walked back and the other bears put their guns back as well.

"So like I said. We need to find a safe spot to hide now, for an unpredictable time." Nick continued to talk. "How many are there, besides you two?" Mr. Big asked, putting his eyebrows up again. Nick didn't hesitate to answer "It's a vixen, a blonde bunny and a female Jackal." Mr. Big's ears perked up. "Have you seen the latest news?" he asked and turned on the TV. A breaking-news show began and the anchors began to talk. "The shootouts took place at the same time but at different areas. The first one was in a clothing-store in Sahara Square and the second one was at the plaza of united species. The attackers fled after they took down the victims. The victims are a blonde female bunny, a female jackal and a red-vixen." Nick's and Glaz's eyes widened and their ears perked up. Another anchor continued "The victims are Air-force-Lieutenant Jenny Hopps, Army-Sergeant Mary Winters and French GIGN-Officer Zoé Moreau." Pictures of the three showed up and went away when the first anchor continued. "The two suspects were wearing black masks, but it was obvious that they were a bunny..." a picture of one attacker appeared. "...and a jackrabbit." a picture of the other attacker appeared next to the first one. "The police and the FBI will welcome any hints or information on the two suspects. The police declared these two suspects to be heavily armed and extremely dangerous. The three victims have been brought to a military hospital, on the army-base outside of Zootopia. As said, police and FBI welcome any hints and information on these suspects." a phone number appeared at the bottom of the screen. The show ended and Glaz needed to sit down. He sighed and took deep breaths, while he held his head in his paws. "This round goes to them. Now we're the last ones." he said and looked up again. He had tears in his eye and prayed that Zoé was ok. Nick sat next to him. "What now?" he asked. Glaz stood up so appropriately, that the chair he was sitting on fell over. "We're gonna go in. We don't know what or who we're fighting. We don't know what Jack has hidden in this hotel. All we know is that he is there and Judy too." Nick stood up too and looked at his friend. "How do we know that?" he asked with a confused look. Glaz took a small screen out from his pocket and turned it on. "We still have Judy's signal from the blue pill. She's currently at the 5-star hotel in Sahara Square, that looks like a palm tree. Jack lives there as well and I also gave Jack one and put it in his pocket, when he attacked us at the motel. He currently is here." He showed the screen to Nick. Mr. Big leaned forward and looked at the screen too. "You know that's funny. 'Cause this is exactly where we are." As he finished, bullets sprayed through the windows and hit the two polar-bears, who stood behind Nick and Glaz. A third one put his paws around Mr. Big and took cover on the ground. After the crossfire ended, Nick looked outside and saw Jack, who held a big automatic weapon in his paws. When he saw Nick, he opened fire again and Nick took cover next to Glaz, who had pulled out his shocker-pistol and waited for the crossfire to end again. As Jack stopped firing again, Glaz went up and shot a few shots at Jack's chest. But he just trembled and didn't fall over at all. He shot a burst again, to make Glaz take cover again. "Why isn't it taking him out. I just sent 15.000 volts through his body and he's still alive." Glaz shouted over the crossfire. Jack continued to shoot and Nick noticed something. The in the beginning so well-placed shots were now uncontrolled and smashing into some walls and windows, but not at Glaz' and Nick's position. Nick slightly looked over the table, he used as cover. There he saw Jack, who was still trembling at the entire body. But he looked at his own gun and tried to pull it away. Every time his arms moved it back again, he pulled away the gun to not shoot at Nick. The magazine was empty and Jack just stood outside, his whole body trembling like crazy. Nick even saw tears in Jack's eyes and was just confused. "Why is he trembling this hard and why is he moving so spastically?" Nick thought, when Jack's arms just moved and twitched around spastically. Then suddenly, he stopped trembling and twitching. His left arm went down to his holster, but his right arm grabbed onto it. It looked like, his right hand tried to fight his left. But his left made its way to the holster, grabbed the gun and Jack held it at his own temple. He looked at Nick with a terrified stare. Suddenly, next to Nick someone fired a shocker-gun. Glaz shot eight times until the magazine was empty. Jack twitched and trembled again. But now his left hand moved slightly upwards. When he fired the pistol, the bullet didn't go through his head. It only ripped a hole in his left ear and he fell over. Glaz reloaded his gun and walked over to Jack, still aiming down the sights and Nick followed him. Jack was lying on the ground and his lips moved for some reason. Nick kneeled next to him and put his ear to Jack's lips. He listened very closely, because Jack could barely speak. "Judy...sorry...for raping...at my...place...Bellwether...upgraded...Nighthowler-poison...danger." Jack's eyes closed and his heart went slower. "Can he survive?" Nick looked up at Glaz, who's face showed that he fought with himself. But then the grey-wolf nodded. "Let me take a blood-sample." Glaz kneeled down to Jack too and put a tiny injector at Jack's neck. It made a short beep sound and Jack moaned a bit. "Sorry Mr. Savage. But I want to know, what made you this way." Glaz explained and turned on his phone. Nick picked up Jack and put him over his shoulder. He was surprised how heavy the jackrabbit actually was. Glaz followed him back inside. Mr. Big and his bodyguards were waiting for them. "Why are you bringing this son of a bitch here Nicky?" Mr. Big asked with a confused look. "He attacked you, me and my bodyguards and I bet he is also the guy who shot your other new friends." "It wasn't him." Everyone looked at Glaz. "Xenohexanite." Glaz made a short pause and then continued. "The chemical part of the Nighthowler-poison, that makes infected lose control over their body. I heard about experiment with this stuff. Regenskirm, a weird drug-maker company tried to make synthetic versions of it. But if they made it possible to make a synthetic version." Glaz looked at everyone.

"What do you want to do with him now?" Nick pointed at Jack. "Call an ambulance and tell them he tripped over a broken cable. That should be it. We need to go to his hotel now. If Judy is there, it means Bellwether is there too." Glaz explained and went to the door to leave. "You won't get in there tonight." Mr. Big said which made Glaz turn around slowly. "And why not Mr. Big?" He asked the chinchilla. "Because there is a secret gala tonight. Only preys are welcomed and only preys will get in. But, there is also a costume request that includes a mask too. I could manage to get you two some tickets easily." Mr. Big answered and lifted his eyebrows again. "You would do this for us?" Glaz asked Mr. Big with a surprised look on his face. "Of course I would. Judy is my granddaughter's godmother and Nicky has become a part of the family long ago. I'm also doing it because I just lost two of my best bodyguards and close friends." he pointed at the two bears on the ground and looked at them with a sad face. "I'll send someone to you, who'll give you the tickets." Mr. Big finished and Nick and Glaz just stared at him with a surprised and disbelieving look. They had hope again. Nick had hope to see his carrots again and Glaz had the hope of finally getting his revenge.
