Quick Note: Okay, so I have finally decided who I want for Mr. Hollister actor wise. I looked at all your comments and I can't help it I like Matt Bomer. So the dedication goes to @1tvitbeforethestorm and @Zoya_Azhar as they were the first two who suggested him. The picture on the right is of him as well. =P Also, I have updated my paranormal romance called 'Hazard' tonight as well and I would appreciate it if you all took a look at that as well since its something new for me and all in a male pov. Otherwise enjoy this chapter from Evan! *winks*

Evan’s POV

*

That grunting noise of Boxer’s woke me. What did Sonja call it? Snorgling? I smiled through my yawn. It was still dark outside. I glanced at the time to see it was 5AM. Figures. I haven’t been getting much sleep lately, but kept that fact hidden from her. She was so worried about everything as it was.

Rolling over I watched her sleep. Her hair was spread out over her pillow and her breathing slow and steady. This was the only time I have seen her look peaceful since my arrest and I liked it. I hated seeing the stress and worry behind her eyes when she tried to mask how she was feeling. I reached up and caressed her cheek. Automatically, Sonja stirred leaning into my touch without waking.

Another grunt and nudge on my arm brought my attention back to Boxer.

“Shh,” I said quietly and he rested his head on the bed, pouting. He needed to do his business. I slowly crept out of bed, trying not to wake Sonja. She would be up shortly anyway to get ready for work.

“Come on.” I whispered tapping my thigh to call Boxer. He leapt off the bed and I cringed from his gentle gruff as we left the bedroom. He kept jumping, huffing and puffing at my leg as we walked through the dark apartment to the yard door.

“Be quiet you silly mongrel,” I chuckled when he excitedly ran out back to do his dirty work. Shaking my head I turned on the desk lamp as it was the dimmest light I could turn on. Not that Sonja would sense it, but I wanted her to have all the rest she could get.

My phone was already blinking with messages and my daily schedule from my receptionist. I hardly have seen my patients due to all this mess with my arrest and dealing with my lawyer. The new female therapist has been helpful in taking in some of my clients temporarily. I found that ironic since I had done the same for Mayweather and how I met the love of my life in the first place.

I grimaced. Joanne had figured it all out from the subpoena she received. To say she was furious would be an understatement. But I made it quite clear it was none of her business.

By the time she would testify in court, she would be walking again at least with a cane. There really was nothing she could do about me being with Sonja, but she could slander my name in court because of my setback with Elissa.

I knew that was going to come out as fuel for the District Attorney. It would be a shock to Sonja and I was trying to shield her from it as much as possible. She knew the reader’s digest version of that story.

What I didn’t understand is now that I have told my family about the situation, my brother of all people, was being supportive. My mother, of course thought Sonja was trash and running my life and my dad didn’t really know what to say.

Maybe Charlie didn’t want or like what would be revealed either. His failure to help Elissa had turned her to me. The way he felt betrayed that she became infatuated with me and then I kissed her, his disturbed girlfriend. I shook my head, they would only bring that out in court to say what a horrible unstable person I was. Away to say I was capable of murder.
