I wove my way through the crowded streets of Bangtansville's market. Mystical scents of perfumes and mouth-watering aromas of freshly baked pastries drifted through the afternoon breeze. Sellers and buyers swarmed around booths and stalls, showing off their latest products and shouting out their lowest prices.

"An emerald necklace to match those enchanting emerald eyes, that grace young miss' face," exhibited one lanky old man to me. He had shiny hair and was wriggling his large, caterpillar eyebrows at me. I smiled politely.

"Thank you, sir."

Although every now and then, I had certainly found pieces of jewelry to be fascinating, as a whole, such trinkets never really captured my interest in the same way they captured that of the local townswomen. Unlike them, I never found myself fawning over the sight of a pretty necklace.

"There you are," J-hope suddenly appeared next to me, draping an arm around my shoulder. "Stop wandering around, will ya?"

"Well, sorry," I complained, dragging out the 'sorry' in an exaggerated manner. "But I got bored watching you carefully examining all those pumpkins when they all look exactly the same to me."

Our family owned a large farm on the outskirts of town, and after our parents had passed away, the family's only son and my dear brother, J-Hope, took over. No one else could have been a better fit.

"They looked nothing alike!" the aforementioned brother knocked his knuckles on my forehead. "Only an ignorant peasant like you could never tell the difference, little sis."

"Or maybe vegetables just don't interest me, brother dearest." I retorted sticking my tongue out at him. He sighed in exasperation.

"Then what does interest you?"

"A lot." I started counting off on my fingers. "Music, art, magic, theatre, and any sort of adventure!" I finished off the last one with an excited thrust of my fists.

"Well, may your wishes be fulfilled one day," he mumbled absentmindedly, already engrossed in a booth selling metallic tools.

"You're not even listening..." I grumbled, fiddling with the ribbons on my dress. "Our lives are just too plain and boring. If only- WATCH OUT!"

The first thing I saw when my eyes fluttered open were the most ravishing, plump lips in probably all of Bangtansville.

As my gaze slid north, I saw a pair of dark, wide eyes staring back at me in astonishment. Only when I noticed a crowd of townspeople gathering did I realize that I'd been clinging to a stranger's shoulders, both of us on the ground. And to my utter humiliation, I was pinning him down.

"Oh. M-my apologies, sir," I stuttered, standing up hastily and patting down my tangled hair. "It's just that, that cart almost ran into you, and I just sort of jumped..."

The man stood up and dusted his coat. He then softly grasped my right hand in his own palms and faced me. He was gorgeous--far too gorgeous for his gender. He'd probably broken many hearts in his lifetime and he was staring at me. Far longer than what was comfortable.

"Your Majesty!" Came a bellow from behind.

Within seconds, we were surrounded by an army of thirty or so guards in royal uniforms, riding muscular, beady-eyed stallions. And they all had the ends of their swords pointing towards me.

"Lower your weapons, gentlemen," the man-or whom I've come to recognize as our king-finally spoke. His gaze still held mine, but now he had a wide, kind, yet shy smile on his face, "I believe this lady here just saved my life."
