I've read many books in my life. In fact, my boyfriend would say I have read more words than I have ever said. Of course that is debatable, but I tell him he's right. He likes being right. What I noticed about the books that I've read is that, they have an ending. All of them have an ending. Yes, books end, but stories never do. They never do unless life ends. But life hasn't ended for me, at least not yet. And so, I have a story to tell, a story of love, pain, change and adaptation.

My story does not begin here; it began 18 years ago, when I was born. I will not bore you with details of my boring years. However, there is a year that wasn't boring at all. When I was 18 years old, I met a guy who turned my life around, in a good way. We had a turbulent relationship at first, if you could even call it that. I was his tutor and he was my bossy arrogant egotistic student. We were in all respects different. He was rich, I was not. He was athletic, I was not. He was good-looking, I was not. He was popular, I was not. He was arrogant, I was not. He was talkative, I was not. You get the point. Even though we were different, he became mine, a fact I still find hard to believe even to this day. He had to go to boarding school because his dad thought he was too playful. However, he was coming back.

I woke up with a start that day. I wasn't a morning person, who was really? Ever since graduating from high school, which was only about a month ago, I'd found it increasingly hard to get out of bed in the morning. My mind and body knew there wasn't anything to wake up for. Admittedly, school had been my life, my reason to wake up in the morning. I loved school. I knew students my age hated school and so I stood out like a sore thumb. Now that school was gone, waking up was a chore.

That morning however, I woke up feeling happy. All my worried thoughts were pushed to the back of my head. Today was a special day. Today, after 3 months, he was coming back. I couldn't wait to get out of bed. In my hurried state, my legs got caught in my duvet and I ended up landing on the floor on my butt. I whined, massaging my probably-bruising butt. My fall couldn't derail my mood. I was up in no time, with a towel around my lower-half. My hair was messy and before I could comb it, there was a knock on my bedroom door.

"Coming!" I said.

"Heard some noises, are you okay?" Tyler's voice reached my ears.

I grabbed a comb. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just fell".

I regretted telling him I fell when he said, "Tripped over your own feet again?"

I snorted as I ran a comb through my hair. I had kept it long just like he liked it, even though I sometimes hated it. All those hatred thoughts disappeared when he was running his hands through it, pulling and moaning. I found myself grinning from ear to ear.

I realized Tyler was still outside my bedroom door.

"Is there anything you want?" I shouted.

"Uh...no", he said. "Hmm, I was just wondering if I should tell you that he's here".

"What?!" I didn't realize I said that loud.

"Uh yeah...he's..." Tyler started but I interrupted.

"He's not...He's supposed to be here in an hour and 30 minutes", I said desperately. He couldn't have arrived; I still needed to take a shower.

"I'll just tell him his girlfriend is still doing her makeup", Tyler said.

I bolted out of the room in a bid to get to the bathroom and shower. When I passed Tyler he had a smirk on his face, coupled with brown eyes and a small nose. His brown hair was long but he kept it neat.

He chuckled when he realized I'd stopped to look at him and I instantly knew he'd lied to me.

"That was way too easy", he said.
