‟Maya!” Shawn and my mom yelled and I dashed down the stairs as wuick as I could and looked into the face of a old woman.

‟Helloooo” I say with a small smile looking at my parents with scrunched eyebrows

‟Hi. I’m Elizabeth Tellis. Your parents reached out to me a few weeks ago. I heard you need lungs right?” She say walking towards me

She was dressed beautifully in a suit. She held a can that helped her walk and her white hair curled up.

‟Yes ma’am I do.” I say as we sit near our kitchen counter.

‟Do you mind telling me your story?” She asked me placing both her hands on the counter

‟Well... when I was fifteen I'm only sixteen now - I was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. The doctor explained what it was to me and basically I am going to die.” I explained. She nodded ‟I was at the doctor and he said my lungs were the worst he’s ever seen” I sighed placing my hands on my lap

‟Well, if you don’t mind - I would like to have a word with your parents” She says politely

‟Sure, okay” I say going back upstairs.

Maya : How is Kaelynn?

Lucas : She said she's doing better. She doesn't look better though

Maya : Awe. Lucas

Lucas : Hey, how about I take you out to get my mind off of things?

Maya : Sure.

Lucas : Seven?

Maya : Seven.

I got up from my bed and decided to look for something to wear. I saw that it was shortly after five. I found something and decided to do something with my hair. It was in a messy bun which I pulled out. I stand at the top of the staircase, ‟Mom..? Dad?” I called

‟Yes sweetie?” My mom answers as she looks at me looking away from the woman for a quick minute. My father look at me putting the rest of the dishes in the dishwasher.

‟Can I go with Lucas tonight?” I asked them playing with my hands

‟Um -” My dad began to speak until my mom cleared her throat

‟Yes you can go.” My mother says with a smile

‟Yay, thanks mom!” I say excitedly as I skipped back to my room. I decided to shower and fix my hair. Once I stepped out of the shower, I checked my phone. It read 6:04 PM

‟I have to hurry” I say to myself and I started to blow-dry my hair. I went for a straight hairdo. I flat ironed my hair and put my clothes on.

I checked myself in the mirror and I smiled. I sat down and breathed for a while. It was now 6:51 PM

I sighed and quickly go downstairs. My mom volunteered to drop me off, once I got there I waved my mother goodbye and went inside the restaurant. I see Lucas sitting down and I sit in front of him.

‟You look so beautiful.” He complimented staring me down

‟Thank you. May I say that you look really handsome?” I say as I smiled

We talked for a while, ate and we got dessert. He paid for everything and we head outside.

‟I had alot of fun, Lucas” I tell him stepping over my tubes

‟I’m glad you had fun” He smiles and holds my hand before bringing it to his lips and placing a gentle kiss on it. He stare into my eyes and I look back into his. He brought his lips close to mine and I kissed him, I felt butterflies. We both pulled away

‟Wow” We both say simultaneously looking into each other’s eyes

‟I’ll text you when I get home” He says as my mom pulled up ‟I love you” I say before she walked to the car

‟I love you too” I say getting into the car.
