Take me home- by Jess Glynne

After fifteen minutes a car stopped close to my bench and a man in his late thirties left it and ran towards me. When Alexander reached me I lifted my head to look at the face of my father's lawyer and only friend!
"Why are you staying here, it's freezing!! Come on let's get inside!"
I nodded and he helped me to my feet. We walked back to the hospital and I sat on a chair and let him talk with some people. I hugged my knees and waited for him to come back. He sat heavily on the seat next to me and his firm deep voice filled my eara! The sorrowful undertone was there no matter how hard he was trying to sound comforting.
"They're going to make the surgery in a few hours and tomorrow morning I'll be here to take his body so we can make the funeral!! I'm going to take you to my house now!"
"You don't have to. I'll either wait here or I'll just go home!!"
He was really nice but I didn't want to be a burden on him and his wife!
"I can't let you stay alone like this!"
"You don't have to worry about me and I'm sorry for calling you this late but I didn't know what to do!!"
"Don't say that! You're like my daughter and your father was my brother! Nothing can lessen your pain right now but I can tell you one thing... Stay strong!!" He hugged me and stood up "I'll go take care of some paperwork and then I'll take you home to rest. Don't leave until I get back and be safe!!"
I felt my heart being stabbed with a poisonous dagger over and over as he said those two words 'Be safe'!! The last words I said to my father!! The last words I was able to say to him before he was gone for good!! I had so many things to say and I wished that I had the time to at least remind him of how much I love him, to just hug him for the last time!!
But time was a bitch! It took the only good thing in my life in the blink of an eye without giving me a chance to say goodbye. I hate time and I hate how it passed so fast and didn't let me be with my beloved ones!
I fell asleep hugging my knees and thinking of nothing until I felt a tap on my shoulder and I woke up to find Alexander standing in front of me with his wife crying by his side. I sat straighter and she came and hugged me tightly.
She held me for quite some time then she stood up and wiped her tears and cleared her throat.
"Come on, let me take you home to rest a little and eat something! Alexander will take care of everything!!"
She gave me a warm motherly smile and I nodded. She helped me to my feet and we walked out to her car. I sat quietly and she drove us to my house. She was a nice woman just like her husband and they have a seven year old son to add to the happy family!
When we finally reached the house I opened the door and got inside. The house was exactly the same and waiting for my father to come and go to the kitchen and prepare breakfast like he usually does! But he can't come back and he can't prepare breakfast anymore!
I looked again at the house and an entirely new house met my lifeless eyes! Sorrow filled every corner in the house and grief fell on everything. Even the furniture mourned the absence of my father and missed his vibrant presence!
The house looked cold and empty!! It sent a shill up my spine and filled me with heavy sadness and loneliness! How can I live here all alone!?
I went to my room and sat under the shower. Water fell over me and through the locks of hair on my face! I closed my eyes and let everything sink in! All the bad new and different thoughts that threatened to make my brain explode. I felt a piece of me was gone and only a black hole was left in my chest swallowing all the emotions I used to have leaving me empty, a hollow shell!!
