Alain's P.O.V

Pokemon Center

I just got a call from my boss to get an abomasnowite in the the frost caverns. I went to Mairin and Y/n,who were sitting on benches. Honestly, things start to feel awkward between Y/n and I because of last night. I have a hard time looking at her.

"I have a mission to do in Frost Cavern" I said coldly

"Aww, but Alain you just went on a mission a few days ago" Mairin pouted

"I have to go"

She huffed "Can we at least go with you?"

I rolled my eyes "Fine"

"Come on, Y/n, we're going with Alain" Mairin called Y/n's attention

I noticed Y/n was awfully quiet. She looked like she was still thinking about something, before Mairin called her attention.

Y/n coughed a little "I will just meet you guys there at Anistar City"

"But why?" Mairin asked

"I just heard from a person that Olympia might leave her gym soon" She seemed quite anxious

"Mairin, are you going with me or not?" I asked impatiently

"What do you think chespie?" Mairin asked her chespin

Mairin's P.O.V

Grumpy Alain or Fun Y/n

"Chespie" Chespie pointed at Y/n

"You know Alain, I will just go with Y/n" I said

Alain's P.O.V 

I shrugged. I was leaving the pokemon center.

"Bye Alain!" Mairin shouted

I ignored it. I left Dendemille town, and headed to the Frost Cavern

Your P.O.V

After Alain left, I claimed my pokemon from Nurse Joy. Absol, as usual, was out of his pokeball. Mairin and I left the pokemon center. I felt quite disappointed. Alain won't even look at me anymore. He went back to his cold self again. Everything went back to being awkward. I sighed.

"So Mairin, what do you want to be?" I asked

"I want to become a mega evolution trainer like you and Alain" She said with enthusiasm

"Chespie" Chespin nodded his head

I remember being like her, a rookie trainer.

"How about I train with you for a while?" I asked

"YES" She shouted

We then headed to an open area in the forest to start our training. We went to opposite sides. Absol sat beside me.

"So which pokemon will you pick?" I asked

"My trusty partner, Chespie, who will soon be mega Chespie" She said with confidence

I smiled at her childlike manners. I don't want to burst her bubbles, but...

"Mairin, Chespie can't mega evolve" I said trying to say it as nice as possible

"Oh. Can any of my pokemon mega evolve?"

"If I can remember, snover can evolve to an abomasnow, which can mega evolve"
