Amber's POV:

It's been two weeks since we returned to Kanoha, and since returning, I've been training hard to improve my abilities in all three ninja skills. To be completely honest, it's all the capacity I had to do.

Ever since our last mission to the Land of Water, I haven't been able to sleep. I never slept much as it was, thanks to them, but after I made that freak recovery, I couldn't help but be paranoid.

Constant questions ran through my head, even the old questions I swore never to ask, again.

What else can I do? How does it work? Where am I from? Who was my true family?

Even without sleep, I continued to train. Guy had graciously offered to instruct me on my Taijutsu, and there was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity.

"You'll have the honor of meeting one of my students today, Amber!" Guy shouted, his teeth twinkling as he smiled. "I think you'll really like him, too! He's a real catch!"

I sweat dropped at his highly unnecessary comment, wishing he would lower his volume. Shaking my head, I stuff my hands in my pockets, and the two of us continued down the street.

As we made our way to the training grounds, I got the strange feeling I was being watched. At first I decided to ignore it, but in doing so the feeling got all the more intense. As if whoever was watching me could see through me. Sooner or later, I had enough.

'Focus,' I commanded myself. 'Just like Kakashi taught you.'

Got him.

Whirling around, I scowled up at the trees at the far end of the street. A single leaf fell gracefully to the ground, proving his location to be correct. Guy only, now, seemed to realize I stopped walking as he turned to me, confusion written on his face.

"It is considered rude to stare," I called out in annoyance. "Do you wish to introduce yourself, or will I have to resort to far more vulgar methods?"

A small gust of wind blew my hair from my face, as I waited for the strangers response. Only moments later, a guy who looked about the same age as me, if not older, stood before me. He had long brown hair, with its end in a pony tail. His attire was fairly bland, with a simple tan over shirt, and black shorts.

"Impressive," he mumbled.

I rolled my eyes. "Not at all. You are simply unskilled at concealing your chakra."

The boy seemed to take great offense by this as he glared daggers. Remaining truthfully indifferent, I took notice to his eyes. They harbored not only a strange color but also an odd resentment. They were like pools of bottled negativity, and I couldn't help but wonder what made them that way.

Suddenly it clicked. Scroll six, section 13, The Byakugan. A visual Jutsu that resided in the eyes. Many say the Sharingan originated from this Kekkei Genkai, that belonged to the Hyuga Clan.

"A Hyuga," I proclaimed softly.

It was nearly undetectable, but I saw the ever so smallest of smirks twitch across his face. Another little detail I happen to read in the scroll was that they held themselves with pride, but when looking at this guy, all I saw was arrogance.

Disgust showed on my face as I gave him another look over. His eye twitched, the only sign of puzzlement he aloud himself to show.
