Should've Said No

"It's strange to think the songs we used to sing
The smiles, the flowers, everything is gone
Yesterday I found out about you
Even now just looking at you feels wrong

You say that you'd take it all back, given one chance
It was a moment of weakness and you said, "Yes."

[Chorus:]
You should've said "No", you should've gone home
You should've thought twice 'fore you let it all go
You should've known that word, with what you did with her,
Get back to me (get back to me).
And I should've been there in the back of your mind
I shouldn't be asking myself, "Why?"
You shouldn't be begging for forgiveness at my feet...
You should've said "No", baby, and you might still have me

You can see that I've been crying
Baby, you know all the right things to say
But do you honestly expect me to believe
We could ever be the same?

You say that the past is the past, you need one chance
It was a moment of weakness and you said, "Yes."

I can't resist
Before you go, tell me this:
Was it worth it?
Was she worth this?

No... no, no, no...

You should've said "No", baby, and you might still have me," Jess sighed as she finished another song for her album

Jon was still at work, so she was home alone when the phone rang, Jess ran to it and took it off the receiver

"Hello good day?" she asked, flipping her hair over her shoulder

"Hello Mrs. Lopez," a voice spoke

Jess' eyes widened

"This is Davenport Medical, we have your husband here," they elaborated

"Husband?" she asked, eyebrow arched, still trying to process what was being said

"Yes, husband, a Mr. Colby Lopez?" they informed

"What happened to him?" She demanded immediately

"He was brought in by Mr. Levesque, he had a torn MCL/ACL and his medial meniscus. You were the first one he informed us to call." The nurse said

"Um, okay, is his girl-" Jess cut herself off, clearing his throat

"Is Zahra Shreiber there with him?" she asked him

"No. There were only three people here today, a Jonathan, a Joseph and Mr. Levesque," the nurse informed her

"Did he already go into surgery?" Jess asked

"No. He's going in surgery day after tomorrow," she told Jess

"I'll be there," Jess said, without hesitation

"Good, cuz you're the first person he demands to see when he wakes up before surgery," the nurse said, Jess sadly smiled

"I'll be there," she promised

She said her goodbyes and hung up. She raked a hand through her hair and sighed. What was she gonna tell Jon?
