The ceiling was spinning. My heart was beating out of my chest. I couldn't breathe.

I'd probably been in this God awful state for hours now. I think I'd fainted twice already, but I wasn't too sure. There was only one person I wanted right now...and I might never see him again.

I weakly begin to look at my phone when I calm down some. I scroll to my profile first, seeing hundreds and hundreds of new comments.

Shawnslover283983: Kristen can kill herself nobody cheats on Shawn what a whore

Muffinmanwife298: wow...what a slut tbh who chooses a criminal over Shawn🙄😒

Oh shit. There was no way the news was already out, right? It just happened a few hours ago.

I log onto Twitter and sure enough, right in front of me:
@etnow: @charlieputh apparently had enough of the paps on Friday afternoon...while @kristenlahey looks on in shock! Watch the video below!

My stomach clenches as I click the link to the video, where the whole encounter unfolds before my very eyes. It was as if I was reliving the whole thing. I watched as Charlie threw a deadly punch straight at the guy's jaw. It looked so different from this new angle; I could practically see the flames of anger in Charlie's eyes from this point of view, and there I stood: hiding behind Charlie's tough exterior. I immediately shut my phone off and stare back up at the ceiling before it rings. I weakly raise the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" My voice is groggy and unenthusiastic.

"Kristen! Oh my God, thank heavens you're okay!" Lili's relieved voice exclaims through the phone.

I sigh and clench my eyes shut, feeling tears hiding behind my eyelids.

"I'm coming to your room, alright? We need to talk," she adds. I simply nod and hang up. A few seconds later there is a knock at the door.

I stand up, dizziness setting in, and stumble to the doorknob. I slowly open the door to reveal a panicked Lili. Her face turns from stressed out to shocked in a matter of a millisecond.

"Hey, we need to talk- oh, Jesus!" She says when she sees what a mess I am, quickly embracing me into a tight hug. I stand in her grip, emotionless and still, because I've cried all my tears and my heart is already shattered.

"C'mon," she gestures into the room and leads me to the couch.

Lili looks sympathetically at me, like I'm a sad puppy who lost its home.

"Oh, Kristen," she shakes her head, still staring at me.

"I know," I deadpan, staring at my twiddling thumbs in my lap.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She brushes a stray piece of tangled brown hair from my face.

I shake my head wordlessly.

Lili nods and takes a deep breath.
"I know this is probably the last thing you want to hear right now, but," she pauses. I meet her cautious gaze as she continues.
"Charlie is in a lot of trouble here, and...well..."

Her voice trails off, leaving me to wonder what she means.

"What? What could you possibly tell me that I don't already know?" I snap. A look of hurt plays across her worried face, but I honestly don't care anymore. I don't care about anything.
