The full moon was rising in the sky, illuminating the otherwise dark forest that surrounds you. The fire in fromt of you and Link was still blazing, thankfully, providing light and keeping you warm as the chills of the night set in. The sparks dance in the night sky, and you find your eyes being drawn to them.

You and Link sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, before you grew tired of the silence and decided to get to know him better.
"Link?" You ask. "I've been looking for you all day, and I'm aware that you were looking for me for a longer time than I have been. How long exactly have you been here? Where were you before this?"

Link glances down at his Sheikah Slate, pointing to a blue symbol on the otherwise empty screen.
"I was here." He replies. "It's some kind of building in the mountain? It's where I got this slate as well. I woke up yesterday, and I've been looking for you ever since."

You look at him im shock. "I came from there too! How did you not see me?" Link shrugs, however he looks confused as well.
"Maybe you were in a different section of the room? I wasn't exactly paying attention to anything but that voice..." He trailed off at the end of his sentence.

"Was it a girls voice?? I heard it too!" You exclaim. "She told me to find you and save all of Hyrule. She didn't say from what though." You suddenly get very worried. What if you can't handle saving Hyrule? Would it be too much?

You're startled from your thoughts as Link places a hand on your shoulder.
"I can see the nervousness in your eyes." He says. "Are you afraid about how dangerous it'll be? Don't be, I'll be by your side to help!" He gives you a reassuring smile. You can't help but feel like you've seen it before, it's all so familiar to you.

You meet his sparkling blue eyes, and feel at ease once more. You smile back, before turning to the fire again.
"I don't know how you manage to be so courageous." You murmur. "We don't even know what we're up against. And I don't even..." You trail off, afraid to voice your concerns, almost in denial of the truth.

"What?" Link questions.

"...I don't even remember anything about myself, or this place." You finish quietly. You stare down at the fire, averting Link's eyes. It's dead silent, and with every passing second you grow more and more afraid of what he'll say to you in response.

You hear Link take a deep breath, and you finally gather the courage to look at him again. His eyes are troubled, and concern is etched into his face.

"..."

He pauses for another brief moment before finally replying.

"...I can't remember anything either." He admits. "When I woke up, I couldn't remember anything but my own name and that I was in Hyrule."

You frown. "I wonder if it's a side effect of that strange place we woke up in?" You question. "Because it's ovbious that the old man knew who we were, so it's not like we were erased from everyone's memory or something."

Link nods but still looks troubled.
"But... we were asleep. How could that cause us to lose our memories? How... how long were we asleep in there to lose all our memories?"
Your eyes widen as you consider Link's question.
"I didn't think about that." You say anxiously. "It couldn't have been that long, right? People can't sleep for that long, not long enough to have no memories when they wake up!"

Link sighs .
"I don't know..." He murmurs. "I guess we wont find out by talking to each other about it, considering we both lost our memory. We'll just wait and hope someone else knows, or even better, have our memories return to us."

You nod, and you both go silent again, until you see orange light start to break through the branches of the trees and the sky starts to turn lighter.
"I guess it's time we head out." You say, pulling out your Sheikah Slate. You point to the blinking yellow circle, showing it to Link. "The old man told me to go to this marker when I found you." You explain. "I guess that's where we need to head next?"

Link nods, and you two get up and prepare for the long walk that was surely ahead. You have nothing to carry with you, and Link quickly notices this. "You still don't have a weapon, do you?" He asks. You shake your head. Link frowns, clearly concerned, but just shrugs in response.
"I guess we'll just have to find you one on the way there." He says. You nod, and the two of you start off into the forest.

You spent an hour in the forest without encountering anything. You were surprised, and began to wonder if the old man was exaggerating about how dangerous it was. This thought was quickly dismissed, however, when Link suddenly stopped you in place and motioned for you to duck down behind the bushes you were near.

You looked at him curiously as he put his finger to his lips, signaling you to be quiet. "There's a group of monsters beyond these bushes." He whispered. "We're outnumbered and don't remember how to fight effectively, so the best way to do this is to sneak around them." You nod, getting increasingly nervous the longer you crouched in the bushes.

"The monsters are surrounding a fire, they appear to be dancing??" Link says quietly, amusement sparking in his eyes. "There's three by the fire and one on a platform, and it has a bow. It's facing the other direction though, I think if we sneak from tree to tree we wont be spotted."
"That sounds like a plan." You whisper back, pulling out your Sheikah Slate. Checking the screen, it tells you that the strange monsters close to you are Bokoblin, and that they like to eat fruit.

"Bokoblin, huh?" You mutter. "I wonder why the slate told me they like fruit anyway, seems a little bit random." Link shrugs before speaking.

"Are you ready, (y/n)?" He whispers, motioning to the bokoblin that were still dancing. You notice that they had weapons laying on a fallen tree trunk nearby, and they appeared to simply be badly carved clubs made of wood. Despite their measly appearance, you were still unnerved by them. You nod anyways.
"Yes, I'm ready." You reply.

Link smiles at you briefly before pointing to a tree a few feet from you, away from the shelter of the bushes. "We'll sneak to that tree first." He whispers. Almost silently, he starts to creep forward. Picking his way around twigs and patches of crunchy leaves, Link slowly makes his way towards the tree. When he finally makes it, you see him let out a sigh of relief and relax. He turns to you and motions you forward.

Feeling intensly nervous, you start to make your way towards Link. Every second felt like an eternity, and with each step you cringed with the thought of being caught by the bokoblin. You glanced over at the monsters, seeing them still dancing. The archer was staring in the opposite direction, thankfully. You also noticed a small chest on another platform, much like the archers, with glowing purple eyes. A pond of water rested near it. You look back to Link, and focus on making your steps silent and not hitting anything that would make noise.

After what felt like hours but only lasted a few seconds, you made it to the tree. You let out a breath you weren't even aware you were holding, and relief floods through your body.
"Now all we have to do is make it over there." Link says, motioning to a clump of bushes on the other end of the clearing. It was a farther distance than the first, but it should still be manageable.

Link slowly makes his way to the bushes, getting to the other side without any problem. He gives you a thumbs up, signaling you forward. You take a deep breath before again creeping out into the open area. This time you don't look at the bokoblin, solely focusing on the ground and what not to step on. There was no way you would make a mistake now.

However, you see something move out of the corner of your eye and glance over at it. The archer had turned around, and was staring right at you. It was squinting his eyes, trying to make out if you were a bokoblin or something to attack. The monster jumps up when it realizes you're a Hylian.

The archer blows its horn, the loud noise echoing through the clearing and alerting the other bokoblin. It sends a wave of fear through you, which quickly turns to panic as you see the other three monsters stumble for their weapons.

You're frozen in fear as they start to run towards you, clubs in hand and malice in their eyes.
