A/N:
It's going to be a short chapter, sorry! Hopefully the events in this chapter make up for it ^^

You and Link trekked back to Mount Hylia, thoughts flooded with what King Rhoam had told you. You didn't speak, even though the amount of questions flooding through your mind was uncountable.

Link turned to you, paraglider in hand.

"You should have this," he says, holding out the paraglider. "I'll take the one the old man makes."

You want to argue, but you know there's no use. You accept the paraglider with a small smile and pull out a spicy elixir. After drinking the elixir, you enter the snowy mountians.

Link leads the way down the river and to the bridge that stretches across it. The bridge was in bad shape, with no boards connecting it to the shore, and pieces of wood missing from the structure. There was a large metal plate lying on a few wooden posts, giving you a small ramp onto the rickety bridge.

You stepped forward to begin crossing, but Link stops you.

"Are you sure that's safe? It looks pretty worn down," he says.

You shrug.

"I'll be careful, promise." you reply, stepping out onto the metal plate. It's sturdy enough to walk on, so you were able to step onto the bridge. The wood creaked beneath your feet, and you took a cautious step forward. When nothing terrible happened, you relaxed.

You turned to Link and called out to him.

"Are you coming on?"

"I'll be fine here, just cross!" he replies, looking a bit nervous.

You shrug and continue along the bridge. The boards are bending beneath your weight, but thankfully aren't snapping. You cross the bridge until it gets to the halfway point, where it breaks off into two. You notice the wooden posts where the bridge should be, and turn back to the metal plate.

"I have to move this metal plate to the other side of the bridge," you call out to Link. He nods at you and you pull out your Sheikah Slate, activating the Magnesis rune. You pick up the metal plate as if it weighed nothing, and carried it to the end of the bridge. You carefully place it on the wooden posts, the corners of the metal balancing precariously on the thin poles.

You walk out onto the metal, tense with anxiety. When you're about halfway across, you feel the platform start to wobble. Your eyes widen in fear as you see the corner of the metal start to slip off the wooden post. You scramble for the bridge, but it's too late. The metal plunges into the river below, bringing you along with it.

"(Y/n)!!!" you hear Link cry out, fear evident in his voice. Then your head submerges underwater and all noise is faded out.

It's cold. It's so cold.

It's as if the elixir you had taken had no effect against the freezing cold, raging river that was now sweeping you downstream.

Your lungs burned as you struggled for breath, but you managed to flail your way back to the surface. Your head broke the surface and you gasped for air.

Your vision was blurred by the water, but you could still see Link running along the shore, desperately trying to keep up with you. He was shouting at you, but your ears were clogged with water and all you could hear was the beating of your own heart. You tried to swim to shore, but the cold water was sapping your strength from you.

"...n)!! (Y/n)! The waterfall!"

You finally heard Link's cries.

The waterfall. I'm going to fall down. Dear Hylia, help me!

You try again to swim to shore, but you couldn't muster the strength. You're plunged under the water again as the current takes a hold of you. You inhale a mouthful of water by accident, and your lungs are burning like fire.

And suddenly, you're falling. Droplets of water rain down on you as your stomach does somersaults in mid air. You try to scream, but nothing comes out of your mouth.

I'm falling down the waterfall. I'm going to die.

You reach for your paraglider, but it's ripped from your grasp by the harsh winds.

You hear Link screaming as you plunge to what will surely be your death.

I'm sorry, Link. I'm sorry Zelda. I failed. I can't save anybody.

Your body slams into the water, and everything goes black.
