Pulling up outside the mall, Lauren stops the car and pulls the keys out of the ignition, stuffing them into her pocket as she unbuckles her seatbelt.
Unsurprisingly, the drive here had been silent apart from the low volume of the radio, but Lauren knew her baby needed time to think and not have questions thrown at her that she wasn't quite ready to answer.
She knew eventually she'd have to persuade the small girl to talk about it, as letting her sit for too long with her thoughts would only cause a melt down like it had done so many times before.
But that was later, right now, they were here to have fun.
Quickly glancing at Camila, she opens the door and closes it behind her, walking round to the passenger side. Pulling the door open, Lauren reaches in and begins to unbuckle the car seat.
"You exited bug?" She asks, easing Camila's arms out of the straps before lifting her into her arms and onto her hip.
Tangling her hands in her mama's hair, Camila nods her head happily and smiles, "Yeah mama, what can I make?" She asks as she's carried into the mall.
"Whatever you like my love. There's bears, rabbits, dogs, and also a bunch of Disney ones you can pick from" Lauren explains as she steps onto to the escalator, gripping the rail with her free arm.
"I think I'd like a bunny rabbit mama" Camila responds, gripping onto her mama's shirt a little tighter as they near the top.
Camila feels her excitement grow when they get closer to the store, and when they walk in, they were greeted by a long line of already stuffed animals, and bins underneath filled with...unstuffed animals.
"So many mama" Camila murmurs, looking around the store with wide eyes.
Lauren grins at her reaction and bounces her slightly in her arms, "I know baby, look, there are the bunnies" Lauren says happily, pointing to a shelf that held several stuffed rabbits.
Walking over, lauren reaches up and grabs one of them, handing it to her baby, "You like that one?" She asks as she adjusts Camila slightly on her hip, looking at her baby's wide eyed look with a smile.
"It's perfect mama" Camila whispers, holding it tightly to her chest.
The grin never leaving her face, Lauren walks over to the to the line of kids waiting to stuff their bears, and she steps behind the last kid and sets Camila down in front of her.
Surprisingly, Camila doesn't asked to be picked back up and waits patiently in front of her mama for her turn, exited to finally get a stuffed animal of her own.
She'd never had one before, apart from the lamb part of her paci, but that was different, it wasn't actually a stuffed animal.
Keeping her hand on Camila's shoulder to keep her sight, it finally becomes her turn.
Camila hesitantly hands her bunny over, "alright sweetie, step on the pedal" the worker says softly, seeing Camila's nervousness. Once the small girls done as she's told, her bunny begins to grow in size, making her smile happily.
"Alright, pick a heart" the woman says, gesturing to the small tray full of small plastic hearts that were beside her.
Gently, Camila reaches for one and goes to hand it over to the lady, but stops when she's interrupted.
"Don't you wanna make a wish?" She asks, "close your eyes and make a wish sweetheart" the lady asks when the young girl in front of her sends her a confused look.
Nodding in understanding, Camila closes her eyes and makes her wish.
I wish I could stay with mama forever.
