Shaun's POV

I got up in the morning.  I poured my cereal, I showered.

This is how I think.

The average person's heart beats 100 times per minute.

This is also how I think.

I was told to go to the bank today by Dr. Aaron Glassman.

He said he would meet me there at 7:35 p.m.

It is 7:34 right now.  He is not here.

I was instructed into a room with a table and some chairs.

There was a woman sitting in the bigger chair.  She was working on her computer.

"Hello, I am Beverly, nice to meet you!" She held her hand out to me.  I looked at her hand.

Then I remembered I had to shake it.

"I am Dr. Shaun Murphy, surgeon at St. Bonaventure Hospital." I shake her hand.

"I am Beverly Waine, a teller at Chase Bank, but I also run an office here, as you can see." She copied my sentence by entering her own details, why?

We were silent.  It is 7:38 now.  Doctor Glassman is still not here.

"So you just moved here-"

"Yes that is correct."

"Okay, so we need you to sign a transferal contract and a few more papers."

"Doctor Glassman isn't here."

"Doctor Glassman?"

I heard the door of her office open and he was standing there.

"It is 7:40 you told me 7:35."

"I'm sorry I'm five minutes late."

He sat down beside me on a chair and started talking to Beverly.

He signed the papers I was told to sign.

I didn't focus much on what was going on, I noticed that she was paying much attention either.

"You keep looking at many objects in an estimate of every 45 seconds," I said to her.

I could see from my peripheral vision that Aaron was glaring at me, but I ignored him.

"Well, um I am attention deficit."

"That is likely, does it run in your family?"

"Not on my mom's side, and my mom didn't know my dad long enough to meet his family, I grew up with just my mom."

"I am sorry," I spoke.  I feel guilty for making her say that, especially since I was warned.

"That's perfectly fine." She started tapping a pencil on her desk.

I then noticed that she started to rearrange her notebooks, they were already organized.

"Obsession Compulsive Disorder?"

"Shaun stop-" Glassman spoke.

"He's fine, and yes, I have that too."

Doctor Glassman continued to sign papers for another nine minutes and 38 seconds.

"I am saving up for a TV."

"That's cool."

"I've never had one before," I said.

"Really?  Well, your parents must not have believed in that kind of stuff then." I just noticed how she doesn't articulate her s's correctly.

"I left my parents when I was around 11," I said bluntly.
