Ben Tells The Truth

"W-What are you t-think about?" Bill asks me. I guess I was in my thoughts too long thinking about what Ben had said.

"Oh, nothing." I say, snapping back into reality.

"O-Ok." Bill says.

"I SWEAR SOMETHING GRABBED MY FOOT!" Richie yelled. This again.

"W-Was it y-you?" Bill asks me whispering.

"Yes." I say whispering back.

Bill grins and goes under water to 'inspect' what grabbed Richie's foot.

"O-Oh my gosh!" Bill says dramatically to Richie.

"WHAT?"

"T-There was a h-hand!" Bill says.

"Bill I swear if you're messing with me-" Richie starts but then I start cracking up.

"I-I grabbed your foot!" I say, my laughter slowing to a stop.

"I hate you. Both of you." Richie says.

"Feelings mutual." I say to him.

Ben, Mike, and Stan come back and join the rest of us.

"What happened?" Stan asked.

"Beverly grabbed my foot and Bill said there was a hand under the water." Richie says.

"Did you fall for it?" Mike asks.

"...Yes." Richie says sadly.

"Well Ben needs to tell you guys something." Stan says.

"Wha- No I don't." Ben says giving Stan a death glare.

"What is it you need to tell us?" Eddie asks.

"Nothing-" Ben starts.

"If you don't tell them we will." Stan says. Geez what's gotten in to him.

"Fine." Ben says.

Everyone looks at him waiting for him to go on.

"Go on.." Stan says impatiently.

"I.. um... I like you Beverly." He said reluctantly.

I didn't say anything or do anything, I just stood there frozen. I guess something in me always knew he liked me. Probably after the poem and the kiss he gave me. But I was unconscious so that didn't count.

"I.. I need to go do... stuff.." I say then swim to shore. I get on my bike and ride back to the Denbrough's house as fast as I can.
