Chapter 3

Tris pov

"When did you start having sex" my mom ask me

"With Tobias or other boys" I say

"Other boys? I think I'm going to be sick" my mom says taking a seat next to my father who comforts her

"Here's the deal" Evelyn starts to say

"You're pregnant there's nothing we can do now" She says

"I don't approve. She's so young and has so much life ahead of her" my mom says

"But Caleb can get Lindsey pregnant and you have no problem. I get pregnant and you think it's the worse thing in the world" I say

"Natalie listen to our daughter. There's nothing we can do but support. We all just have to support. This was their decision and now they have to live by it and we will be their for them" my dad says

I look over at him and mouth a "thank you" and he smiles at me.

"So what does this mean" my mom ask

"How will they start raising the baby? Together in one home or will they get their own home, or separate homes" she adds

"I feel like they should continue living with us then when they are stable enough to live on their own we take it from there" Evelyn says

"How's that sound" Marcus ask

"Good" I say

"It's not like we live far away" Tobias says

"We'll figure it out" I say holding his hand. He gives it a squeeze.

"I guess that's enough for tonight. Tris. Home. Now!" My mom says

"Okay I'll be right over" I say as Tobias wraps his arms around my waist, kissing my cheek.

"Now" she says and I sigh

Tobias bends down and gives me a peck then I leave with my parents.

When I got home I was questioned about my relationship with Tobias by my mother.

My dad stood beside her but didn't say much.

"Were you at least using protection tris" she ask "Are you on birth control pills"

"He has condoms I didn't think it was necessary to have pills" I say

"I can't believe what I'm hearing." She says to herself

"I thought you were smarter than this tris" she adds

"So now I'm stupid for getting pregnant" I say crossing my hands over my chest

"Yes. You saw what happened to your brother, you know the consequences" she says

"Okay mom" I say annoyed

"It's like this whole situation isn't bothering you" she says

"It is but what can I do about it now. I'm scared about if my mind and so nervous about what's to come. All I want is you to be there for me the same way you were there for Caleb" I say angry but sad

My mom doesn't say another word after that so I walk away from them and up to my room.

I'm getting ready for bed when there's a knock at my door.

"Come in" I say

My dad walks in with two hot chocolates filled to the top with whip cream. It's our favorite.

We've always been closer than my mom and I️. He just understands things that my mom doesn't.

I sit up in my bed and he takes a seat with me.

"How's it going sweetie" he ask handing me my hot chocolate

"It's going" I laugh and he does the same

"Look dad i'm so-..." I start to say but he interrupts

"Don't apologize. Things happen." He says

"That's the same thing I told your brother" he adds and I smile

"And don't let your mother get to you, she'll come around" he says while I take a sip of hot chocolate

"thank dad" I say putting my hot chocolate down and giving him a hug

"I love you dad" I say pulling away from the hug

"I love you too sweetie" he says

"Now get some rest, you need it" he adds

"Yes sir" I say with a laugh

He gets to the door and before he leaves he looks back at me and says, "I knew you and Tobias would get together. You've had this connection ever since you were younger. No one can take that away"

Then he leaves.
