Chapter 25

Tris pov

I sit at a table outside as I wait for Tobias to meet me for lunch. He's at work but he made some time to spend with me. I needed a break from my mom and Evelyn so I left them with Elena to watch while I have lunch with Tobias.

He finally arrives and greets me with a kiss.

"Sorry I'm late honey, I was dealing with some thing at work" he says

"It's okay. At least you're here now" I say

"How's your day going" he ask as we look at the menu

"Just tired of being pregnant, what's new" I say and he chuckles at me

"You have about 2 more months I think you can survive" he says

"Tobias it's just so much, so exhausting. I'm huge I can't even put on my shoes. My mom had to help me, my own mother" I say and he continues to laugh

"I'm sorry for laughing but Tris calm down everything is going to be okay. I know you can get threw this" he says

I get ready to say something when we hear a loud bang and screaming.

"Tris get down" Tobias says and I start freaking out.

"What? Why? What's going on?" I say

"They are gunshots, get down" he says

He pulls out his gun and runs toward the action.

"Tobias wait..." I say but he's already gone

I grab my phone and call 911 and quickly explain what's going on. I'm a matter of minutes cop cars come flying down the street.

When everything looks clear I wobble to meet back with Tobias but I see him on the floor surrounded by his fellow cop friends. He's shot.

"Tobias" I scream, trying the best I can I bend down and be with him

"I'm okay tris, it's just a gunshot. I don't want you to stress" he says

"Just a gunshot, Tobias you're hurt" I say freaking out. I feel my palms getting sweaty and I start to get really hot.

"Tris, honey, calm down" he says

"I can't. I'm scared. Where's the ambulance? I don't want anything bad to happen to you" I say crying

"And I don't want anything to happen to you. You're not suppose to be under so much stress" He says

And with that last word, I faint right onto the ground.

I wake up in a hospital. I'm very confused and unaware of what's going on.

"Tobias" I say

"I'm right here" he says holding my hand

I look up at him and see his arm is in a cast

"Your arm" I say

"I'm going to be okay" he says kissing me right on the lips

"What happened" I say holding his cheek

"You fainted and it put the babies under a lot of pressure-..." he says

"Are they okay" I say starting to freak out

"They are going to be fine" he brushing my hair out of my face.

"The doctors had to do an emergency C section but they are going to be okay" He says and I sit up and run my hands threw my hair.

Comment names for the babies- it's one girl and one boy.

"They are here, can I see them?" I say

"Let me get a wheelchair" he says

"I can walk" I say

"No you can't. The doctor wants you resting today" Tobias says

He grabs a wheel chair and carries me into it.

"Tobias you arm... you can't carry me. You also need to rest" I say

"I'll do anything for you, hurt or not hurt. You always come first" he says

I stand, which was very hard and exhausting to do. Tobias was right, I can't walk.

Tobias wraps his arms around my waist and holds me.

"I love you so much and I couldn't have asked for a better husband" I say pecking his lips

"And I couldn't have asked for a better wife" he says

I hold his face and give him a nice long passionate kiss.

"Now let's go see our babies" I say
