Chapter 21

Tris pov

Hawaii was great but it's good to be home. Elena really missed us, she cried when we went to pick her up. We missed our little girl too.

It's about 6 o'clock in the morning and I wake up to puke. This morning sickness is really being a pain.

I brush my teeth then lay back in bed next to Tobias. He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close.

"Feeling sick" He says rubbing small circles on my stomach.

"It's just morning sickness but it sucks" I say holding his face. He leans in and gives me a long passionate kiss.

"If you want I can stay home from work" he says and I shake my head no.

"I'm going to be fine. Go to work. I will see you later tonight" I say and he kisses my head.

He gets out of bed and goes to take a shower to get ready for his day.

I fall back asleep but I'm woken back up by him pecking my lips.

"I'm leaving for work. Call me if you need anything" he says and I nod.

"Love you" I say

"Love you" He says giving me a quick kiss then leaving.

I strap Elena's shoes on then grab my purse and walk out the door. We're going to get some lunch and have it with Tobias at work.

I pull into the drive thru of the restaurant and order the food. The lady taking my order was mean but I kept my cool because Elena was in the car.

When we get to Tobias job all his cop friends greet us. They give Elena high fives and then we pass Lindsey. Elena runs up to her and they hug.

"Hey little E what's up" Lindsey says

Elena got really close with Lindsey because we were always visiting Tobias at work when she was younger. She loves it at the police station.

Out of all of the cops here she has to get attached to Lindsey.

"Mommy look who I found" She says in Lindsey's arm

"Yes." I saw in my mommy happy voice

"Hello Lindsey, how are you" I ask

"Pretty good, you?" She says

"I've been good" I say

"Can I go play with Lindsey" Elena ask me

"Only if Lindsey isn't busy" I say

"Can we" Elena ask so cute and innocent.

"Sure we can little E. Let's go" Lindsey says putting her down and they run off somewhere

"Make sure you say hi to your father fir-" I try to say but they leave so quick.

I peck my head into Tobias office and when he looks up at me he has a big smile.

"I brought lunch" I say as he walks up to me

He puts it on the table in his office and welcomes me with a loving kiss.

"You're the best wife in the entire world" he says and I giggle

"Where's our daughter" he ask

"Guess" I say

"Lindsey" He says and I nod

"Maybe they are connected in away. Maybe she thinks Lindsey is her mother you know because you two once had a thing. Maybe Lindsey is a better mother than me. Elena never wants to do things with me" I say and he grabs my hands and shushes me

"Will you shut up" he says

"Elena loves you. You're her mother and what did I tell you about bringing up the past. Leave the past in the past" he says

"Sometimes I feel like I'm just such a terrible mom" I say

"She gets along with you so well" I add and he puts a finger on my lips.

"Stop. I don't want to hear it" he says

"Stop doubting your mothering skills. You're a great mother and always will be" he adds

"You always know what to say" I say pecking his lips.

"You know what we should do?" He ask

"What" I say

"Let's go away this weekend with Elena. We can have some family time and it will also give us the chance to tell her about her brother or sister on the way" he says and I sigh sitting down on a couch in his office.

"I don't know is this the right time, maybe we should wait to tell her" I say

"We should tell her before you start really showing. You have a small bump that's not so noticeable but in a matter of weeks it's going to get bigger" he says

"I don't mean that in any mean way" he adds and I giggle

"I know babe" I say holding his hand

"Let's do it then. How do you think she's going to take it" I say

"I think she will be happy to have a sibling" He says

"Let's hope" I say passing Tobias his lunch.

Elena comes running into the room with Lindsey right behind her.

"I'm hungry mommy" she says siting right on top of me; I had to quickly move my salad.

"Okay" I say grabbing her food.

"Bye little E, I have to get back to work. See you around" Lindsey says

"Yes" Elena's says nodding while she drinks her apple juice juice box.

"Wow no hug and kiss for daddy" Tobias says to Elena and she laughs

"Hi daddy" she says and gives him a big hug.

"Hi bug. So mommy and I have some news" Tobias says and she reaches for her fruit cup.

"How would you feel about going to the water park for the weekend" Tobias ask her and she hops off my lap.

"Yes water park" she screams and we just laugh

"That sounds like a yes" I say

"Let's go right now" she says putting her food in the trash. I get up and save it before it's completely gone in the trash.

"Let's finish our food" I say and she sits down and eats some of her chicken nuggets.

"We're going to leave for the water park tomorrow" Tobias says and she sighs.

"Okay" she says

I lay my head on Tobias and we just watch our smart beautiful girl.
