i hear the alarm on my phone go off beside me; and i start to open my eyes.

i didn't have to groan and worry about my alarm going off really loud because i used my favorite song to wake up a little more relaxed than usual.

i started to sing along to my favorite song as the alarm and i knew that i had to get up from school, but i only slept for 4 hours.

i've heard that you'll do good on education if you have at least 4 hours of sleep; so i thought about doing that.

after the song finished, i just realized that i have my exams today. the day that i just want to die because what if i fail? i really don't want that to happen, this is my last year of high school.

i see the kitchen lights on, and i started to become confused..did i forgot to turn off the lights last night?

i get changed into my uniform, and i decided to put minimal effort on myself since we're only going to take the exams.

i walk out, and i see my mom cooking some breakfast. something she doesn't really do every day during the weekdays.

"good morning, [name]! are you ready for the exams?"

"no. no, not really. i'm really nervous.."

"ah, don't be! this is your last year of high school, and you studied extremely hard for this. i'm pretty sure you're gonna do fine! and plus..you're going to america after your graduation. you got accepted to one of the colleges you really wanted to go, right?"

i looked down at the table as i sat on a chair. "yeah..i don't know what it's like over there. i'm gonna miss south korea."

"it's fine, [name]. i'm going to america with you."

i look up at her, and i became surprised. "really? what about your job?"

"i'm quitting. you know my korean isn't good, your dad lead me here and you were born before we had split. i miss seeing your grandparents."

"..you mean you booked our flights?"

"..yes."

"what?! when?"

"next month in july. the college you wanted to go starts in august." my mom tells me as she gives me a plate of food to eat before i leave.

i start eating and enjoy the meal my mom made for me for about 10 minutes and suddenly, i hear a car honk outside.

i look at the time, and chaerin came by really early.

"[name], we have to be there early because of the traffic!"

..i forgot about the traffic.

"oh, i have to go!" i say as i reach for my phone, and hugged my mom.

"good luck on your exam. you can do it, leave your bookbag here in the house."

"ah thank you mom, i'll see you later!"
