y/n sighed as she held her korean notebook close to her chest. her heart was rapidly beating as her tutor, somi, opened the door to her house.
"have you been waiting for long? sorry i couldn't hear the doorbell ring, i was busy preparing for today's lecture." she said in english, smiling at y/n
"well, what are you doing standing outside? come in!"
the two girls then took seats at a round table, setting the material down for today's class.
"okay so, take out your notebook and start writing thd title. today we are going to lear the vocabulary for love and romance." somi blushed, pulling a strand of her hair behind her ear "what's the first word?"
"of course we're gonna start with 사랑해, which means-"
"love"
"yes, correct. now write that down. the next word is 첫사랑. which means 'first love'. if we use 마지막, which we know means 'last'. we can form the fraze 내 마지막 첫사랑, which means 'my first and last love'."
"okay, i understood everything"
"now, 짝사랑 means 'secret crush' and 남진 and 애진 mean 'girlfriend' and uhm... 'boyfriend'. i was wondering, y/n, do you have a boyfriend..?"
"uhh, no. i don't really-"
"good. now 고백하다 means 'to confess' and 데이트 means 'date'. did you write that down?"
"yes but-"
"great, now for example if i were to confess to you i would say 나 너 좋아해 which translates to 'i like you' or i would ask 너 내 여자친구 할래? which means 'do you want to be my girlfriend?'."
"okay, please wait a second for me to write these things down."
somi shyly takes y/n's pen out of her hand, looks into her eyes and asks
"so, y/n, will you be my girlfriend?"
