"What happened to her" Marius asked in surprise. He had just noticed the flushed state of the woman Anghel had in his arms.

"Chupixes" was the plain reply

"What? But they don't attack mortals"

"I found a fae very close to the border" his tone was laced with meaning
"Oh" And he said no more.

"Mistress!"
Olivia broke free from the hold of one of the guards and ran towards them. She had been held captive when she could not tell where her mistress and Master had gone.

"Step back Maid. Get her things. We are returning to the castle now"

"Right away your highness"

Taylor could hardly keep up with the activities happening around her. She was vaguely aware of arms around her and a bumpy motion...A horse ride.

She must have blacked out, because she woke up surrounded by fluffy white blanket on an oversized bed, in an unfamiliar room.
Startled, she tried to rise but groaned as dizziness and pain rushed through her.

"Sam! You're awake"

Olivia's wide eyed face came into focus in the dim light.

"Olivia? Where am I?" Taylor asked, her voice raspy and dry.

"You're in the castle. You must be hungry, you've been asleep for so long"

Truly, her stomach felt dreadfully empty and her throat parched. But worse of all, her body ached in ways she didn't know it could.

"What happened...to me" she was having a hard time thinking past the dull ache in her head.

Olivia eyes widened again
"You don't remember? You were attacked by two Chupixes in the woods. They say it was influenced by Fae magic and His highness was just in the nick of time to save you"

"Fae magic?"

The door swung open just then and two figures stepped in. Olivia scrambled to her feet and curtsied

"How is she?" the low feminine voice belonged to Emese.

"She just woke up Ma'm. I was on my way to get food"

"A warm broth and the medicine I prepared"

"Yes Ma'm" she curtsied again and hurried out of the room.

"Your Izolare not complete yet you already got into such trouble" Enese scolded lightly as she sat on the chair previously occupied by Olivia.
"Emese!" Taylor called happily. She didn't think she'd be so glad to see her again. Emese had her hair up in a bun and her regal face shone beautifully.

"Child. You are very lucky indeed. I feared your wounds would be infected and you wouldn't make it but your wounds healed nicely"

"Olivia said something about the Chupixes being influenced by fae magic?" Taylor wanted to know

"Originally, Chupixes never attacks humans but become incensed wherever Faes are near. It's a wonder to everyone who has heard, how you survived with less mortal wounds before Anghel saved you"

"Fae. What is that?"

"Nothing to concern you this part of Ardelean. And if the Black guards are successful, its nothing to be worried about for a very long time. Anghel's silly antics got you injured, I'll make sure he makes up for this one way or the other"

"If Anghel hadn't broken the rules of the izolare, Emese, he wouldn't have found out about the breach. Luckily, he killed the vile trespasser before more harm could be done" The other visitor spoke for the first time. He was a reed thin man that had a pompous air about him
