Faeland....

"Rest easy Anghel, She couldn't have gone far" Emese reasoned gently to the agitated vampire before her. She saw and understood his mood, the way his eyes  darkened always reminded her of the calm before a storm which was an indication he was loosing his cool.

"Emese, I have never met a mortal...no, a person as stubborn as that girl! She never listens to a word I say" Anghel continued to pace in exasperation.
They had just found out Taylor had snuck away from under Emese's nose.
His first instinct was to blame Emese for not heeding his words of keeping a close eye on her but then he remembered how stubborn and full of will the girl was.
"I have had enough." Anghel swore vehemently "When I find her, I'll make sure she never steps out of the castle again!"

"By doing what exactly Anghel?" Her question  stopped him midstride.

"She is a mortal girl, not accustomed to the ways of the Nosferatu. Of course she would be stubborn and rebel against your commands"
Emese walked to him and touched his shoulder. He turned and grasped her hands in his and looked helplessly into the eyes of the vampire that was a second mother to him.

"What can I do to make her stop hating me?"  He breathed

Emese smiled knowingly
"She doesn't hate you Anghel...she just doesn't understand you. Show her the real you. Make her understand why you do the things you do"

"What will become of the Fae when we get to the castle?" Taylor asked the quiet man seated behind her. He maneuvered the horse to sidestep a fallen log with a soft click of his toungue. His eyes flickered to the red robbed girl chained to his horse

"Her death is inevitable" He answered after a slight moment of hesitation. He felt Taylor's body grow rigid

"Does she really have to die? She is harmless"

It was Anghel's turn to stiffen. His horse picked up the tension and fretted.

"No Fae is harmless Taylor, the sooner you understand the  better. They killed the queen and they are the cause of the King's situation. Before then, they have been a notorious race with questionable arts that spreads confusion and  war whenever they can. They do not deserve a pint of mercy"
Anghel calmed his horse and led it to a trot once more ignoring the cry of the struggling captive.

Taylor looked back and saw the way Olanda struggled to stay on her feet, her bounded hands not making it easier to keep up with pace of the horse.

"Stop the horse" Taylor said out loud. When Anghel ignored her, she squirmed dangerously

"Stop this horse right now or I swear I'll jump down"

Anghel cursed and pulled the reins so the horse stamped and reared at the sharp command.

"What is it this time?" He fought to control his annoyance

"Cut her loose" Taylor replied, her tone implying she was not going to give up

There was a stunned silence

"News has reached the castle you caught a prize, returning to Ardelean without it is not wise" Anghel remembered Emese's advice and tried to be extra plain which was proving a hard task with the minx he called a wife.

She squirmed again and would have jumped down if he hadn't held her down
"Stop this Taylor, we both know that Fae's fate" Anghel tried once more to be the reasonable  one.

"She won't run away. I want her cut loose, can't you see she is tired and its hard for her to walk being tied so?!" Taylor pointed out adamantly

Anghel looked at the fae, she was watching them silently. The way her eyes searched his was a tad bit unsettling.
