Taylor heard it again.
The feminine whispers.
"Did you hear that?" She whispered to Emese. The other woman was crouched behind a snow covered log, she had her weapon, a silver crossbow, raised and secured on the log. She placed a finger to her lips, her watchful eyes not wavering from her set target.

Emese had picked up a scent and was hunting it. Taylor crouched, forgotten behind her. Ever since they had reached this part of faeland, Taylor had been plagued by gibberish whispers that flitted in and out of her head.
It didn't last to a minute before it stops just to suddenly continue again.
Taylor felt she was growing crazy and she wanted to leave.

This time the whispers didn't stop but grew to actual voices talking all at once in her head. Taylor held her head and squeezed her eyes shut, dangerously on the edge of screaming in frustration.

Then she looked up and saw it from her peripherals. On the far left corner away from the path they watched, was the firefly from her first day of ardelean. In the snow white forest, it was very hard to notice but Taylor saw it, hovering over a naked tree covered in snow.

Taylor looked at Emese, she was still concentrated on the path she believed her prey would be coming from. She had set a trap with ropes and sticks that was sure to catch a Fae or two.

Emese didn't see Taylor leave her side nor did she see the ball of light lead her farther away into the forest

Emese didn't see Taylor leave her side nor did she see the ball of light lead her farther away into the forest.

Taylor didn't know why she followed this thing again but she just did. She knew it was the only way to stop the assault to her inner mind, for as she followed, the whispers stopped.

It's light pulsed as she followed it deeper into unfamiliar territory. This time around Taylor wasn't scared, just curious.
Why did it call her?
What did it want?
Then they broke out to a clearing and Taylor's breath caught at the view before her. It was a crystal clear frozen lake surrounded by snow dusted pine trees. It's reflective silver surface was a rare and beautiful sight.

"Wow" Taylor couldn't help but breath out, but then froze as she felt a cold, sharp object press against her neck

"What are you doing here?"
