I toss and turn in my bed. Mafia life scared me just reading about it never mind living it. The only thing keeping me from breaking down are Thomas' warm chocolate eye.

"That's it!" I tell myself.

I stand up, pull a sweater over my t-shit and pull on track pants too.

Quietly pushing open my room door, I slowly make my way downstairs and out the back door towards the woods. walking through the thicket I see the trees clearing a spot with a lake in the middle.

I walk toward the lake and sit on a big boulder on the bank. In the water is the reflection of the moon. It's not a full moon yet, just a crescent but it make me smiles. Suddenly I feel a heat envelope me, I look to my right to see a calm Thomas sitting there.

His gaze is on the moonlit water as well. I lay back on the rock and look straight up at the sky. Staring at nothing but the stars in the night sky. I sigh.

"The moon might up everything it touches." Thomas, who has been quiet since he got here says.

"It lights up the whole meadow, right up until the tree line." I smile knowing he is no longer looking at the water, but at me.

"How did you find me?" I ask so lightly I'm surprised he even heard it.

"I followed the moonlight, knowing you need to think and what better place to do it than out here. Alone, surrounded by nature but not suffocated it. Its the perfect place think about anything and everything, entirely all at the same time."

I look into his warm chocolate eyes. "You are exactly right, but why did you follow all the way out here?" I asked the simplest question and he answers it in the most perfect way.

"Because I knew you needed me."

I don't know how he knew that but I didn't question him. Instead we talked about how the meadow is peace to our chaos, how its purity to our madness, and  how starting tomorrow morning he would teach me everything I needed to know on how to be an avenging angel in this sea of demons.
