Song of Choice: Peter Pan- Arcade Fire

Requested by DancingWithAlan:
Demon Dean escapes from his cozy little cell. A manhunt ensues.

Tears streamed in full down your cheeks as you watched Dean scream in agony. Blood that wasn't his was coursing through his veins and causing him immeasurable pain. You couldn't stand to watch it, but you couldn't walk away. You had to make sure he was okay; that he was still alive after all of this.

"Sam," you whispered once he came out of the sigil covered room, "how much longer can he take this?" Your voice kept cracking and you were sure that Sam could see the broken emotions you were feeling clearly through your features. He didn't answer with words; he just gave you a hug and pulled you and him away from the cell with gentle hands.

"Why don't we go get some food? Take a little break from all of this." You nodded slowly and let him lead you away, a solicitous arm over your shoulders. The two of you made your way to the kitchen, him opening cupboard after cupboard as you jumped up on the counter wearily. "He'll be fine."

"Are you sure?" You whispered shakily, gulping back a sob. "Are you sure he'll be okay?" Sam couldn't answer you. Instead, he filled up a pot with water and set it on the stove. You nodded your head and looked down at your feet, swinging them back and forth in silence.

"Cas says this will work." Sam finally spoke up, turning around to look at you. His eyes were filled with hope, and you were sure that he didn't quite believe what Castiel said, but was still hoping anyway. All you could do was hope at this moment.

"Well," you jumped down from the counter and wrapped your arms around yourself, "hopefully he's right." With that, you silently left the room, not wanting Sam to see the new tears streaming down your cheeks.

As you made your way to your room, you heard a loud thump. You assumed it was Sam hitting his head against a cupboard like usual, but when you heard a voice yell "Dean, stop it!" You knew it wasn't a typical ordeal. Quickly you ran the rest of your way to your room and grabbed the gun on your bedside table.

Another booming noise forced your feet to move faster, and soon you were stood in the kitchen where a fist sized hole was now cradled in a wall. You knew who it was, but didn't know how he escaped.

Pulling out your phone, you dialed Sam and ended the call after the fifth ring. You called again, and this time he answered. "Sam? What's going on?" You whispered, unable to bring your voice any louder.

"Dean escaped. Grab a weapon; I lost him. I called for Cas, but he hasn't shown up yet." You heard the flutter of wings behind you. Right in time.

"He's here. How did he escape?" Sam sighed angrily, surely running a hand down his face.
"I think the human blood made him stronger." You let out a shaky breath and nodded at Cas. He did the same and flew out of there, on his way to find Dean.

"Alright. I don't know where Cas is headed, but I'll look through the main rooms. Where are you?"

"I'm making my way towards the bedrooms. Scream if you find him, all right? Stay safe, Y/N." Sam's voice was hurried when he spoke, like a man witnessing a tornado making its way toward him.

"You too." You ended the call, flipped off the safety on your pistol, and began to make your way toward the sitting room.

It felt like you were on a hunt, and that only made it more painful. Hunting your boyfriend like he was a monster; usually he was on the other side, helping you and Sam. But this time, he couldn't. His mind and soul weren't in the right place and all you could do was hope that everyone would come out alright in the end. However, you knew that was hoping for too much. You heard an inhumanly growl and were pushed to the ground.

Dean stood over you with an axe in hand, eyes black like an abyss. They no longer has any life in them. "Dean, what are you doing?" You murmured, voice full of unhinged and powerful emotion. He simply smirked and brought the axe up over his head.

"Your time's up, Y/N." He got ready to bring it down, but the sound of a gunshot startled him. You pulled the trigger again, merely grazing his cheek. Within seconds and shot after shot, Cas and Sam appeared. Cas touched his fingers to Dean's head. He fell, eyes closed, axe falling limply to the ground.

You were crying as Sam picked him up and leaned him up against a wall. All you could do was watch as Cas' hands lit up to a bright, white light that your eyes could barely stand. So, you closed them, erasing the sight before you that clenched your heart like a drum major. And when you opened them again, Dean's were open as well.

They were green. And with those sparkling eyes, he watched you, tears pooling and making his eyes an even brighter, livelier green.

"I'm sorry," he whispered. You couldn't help but forgive him.

When you smiled, he stood and lifted you off of the ground, holding you snuggly in his arms. Sam and Cas watched from a distance, smiled as bright as they could stand, and eyes even happier.

He was fixed. Dean was no longer a monster; he was now the hero he would always be.

I am SO sorry this took so long to get up. I went through a little "i hate everything I write" rut, but I'm good now! I've got the motivation back.

(Also, I have 12 more prompts to write!! One of them is going to be a collab with smolbeaninabeanie! I'm really excited to write that one!!)

Also, y'all should go check out my archiveofourown (marchlings) and my tumblr (also marchlings)!!! I write on those as well. So far, for my archiveofourown, I have up a Yuri on Ice fanfic that is not finished yet, and a Keith Kogane one!! On tumblr, I have up a few Supernatural ones, as well as some Marvel ones. Some of these may already be posted on here, but most of them aren't.
