No one from High School wouldhave expected me, Annabeth Chase, the total nerd, to be the Owl. To be the street fighter with nearly 50 wins under her belt. In fact, most of those wins had been achieved in the first 10 minutes of the fight.

What can I say, I've got a reason to fight. Those other losers? They're fighting for fun. Me?

I fight to win.

Its a long story as to why, so Ill spare you the details. My dad got in a rough spot when I was 12. Debt collectors, dealers (not his own), and several crime bosses often showed up at our door. My dad, the man who only wanted to protect his little girl, always told me they were his colleagues, and would leave me clueless when they left, and he was coughing up blood.

In fact, it wasn't until I was 15, in my Freshman year of High School, that I realized why my dads "colleagues" had a habit of sending him to urgent care. It wasn't until during history class, just before Chriatmas break, when the teacher mentioned a name, the name Poseidon, that I'd overheard my dad say during one of his "meetings".

My teacher, a young woman named Diana Artemis, had seen my full body, mental explosion of a reaction, and spoke to me after class. Being my favorite teacher, I trusted her. I told her the situation, explained my fathers predicament, and let slip that I wanted to help my dad, without the police butting in.

I knew what police did in this kind of situation. It happened to my mother, Athena, and I didn't want me and my dad to get relocated too. I liked New York. Being awesome as she was, Miss Artemis offered me free boxing lessons with her brother, Apollo.

Of course, I jumped at the chance, and in one short month, the arrival of my dads "colleagues" was met with my fist. The guy was put in jail, and everyone else stayed far away. My dad had hugged me, and started crying. He was relieved, but he also begged me to be careful.

I had been careful, but I'd also gotten stronger, tougher. More dangerous.

Now, I'm 17. My Senior year is starting, and to every student at school, I'm the weak bookworm who can't stand up for herself. Outside of school, I'm the girl with fists of steel, the girl nobody wants to get near.

I have one friend at school, and shes the girl who never gets in trouble. She doesnt know I'm a fighter. I have one friend in the ring, and shes the girl who always gets in trouble. She does know that I'm the goodie two shoes at school.

Sometimes, Thalia, the friend outside of school, would help set me up fighting new people for more money. My new opponent was a guy... A new guy... And I just can't wait to meet him.

I just can't wait to meet the son of Poseiodn.
