Five days have passed in a blink of an eye. It is now time for the much awaited audition. Xu Jun is feeling excited and nervous while sitting at the back seat of the car. His agent, Wang Yong, is driving while drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. He actually looks more anxious than the actor. Xu Jun listens as his agent blabbers on. For the three years he has been in the entertainment industry, of course he has heard of this recently crowned A-list actor. A forty-year old man with graying hair perks up upon hearing his name. "Oh? So early? Nice, nice," the director says amiably, eyes sizing up the slightly smiling actor. "You are Xu Jun?"

The aforementioned man nods his head, keeping the small smile plastered on his youthful face. "It is an honor to meet you, Director Gao." They shake hands and the director proceeds to introduce the other people in the group. There is one of the main producers, the casting director, a representative from the biggest investor, and the only female in that group, the best-selling novel author Li Xiu Ying.

When Xu Jun is about to offer his hand for a shake, the author deliberately turns her back on him to talk to the director. "When is Li Jie coming?" asks the heavily made-up woman.

If it is the past Xu Jun, he might have failed to control his facial expression. But the one standing in the room is the new and improved Xu Jun. His slightly upturned lips never dip and his outstretched hand slowly but very naturally returns to his side. The director praises the lad inwardly. Such composure!

Li Xiu Ying scoffs at the small time actor inside her heart. How dare he shows up to audition? He thinks he can win against Li Jie? What a naive fool.

The director replies but is interrupted by a sudden call. He leaves the room but bumps into someone. "Ah Li Jie. It's you, it's you. Go in. Li Xiu Ying is just asking for you," director Gao rambles and speeds away, missing the disgusted look in Li Jie's eyes.

Li Jie, with Wang Juan in tow, enters the room. He hears the enthusiastic call from the perverted author and he smiles charmingly at her. "Author Li, it has been some time since we last met," his mellow voice sounds out in the small room. A pair of dark brown eyes train at him. He briefly glances at the owner of those scrutinizing eyes. His right hand unconsciously tightens.
