I wake up and I'm not surprised that the space next to me in my bed is empty. Getting off from the bed, I throw a black robe over me step out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.

I watch as Hayley makes herself a cup of coffee and is about to drink it when I swoop in and take the cup from her. "What are you doing?"

I set the cup down on the counter next to us. I give her a look, "Drinking coffee can cause birth defect or preterm labor." I inform her, remembering some articles I read online.

"Don't you think being yours and Klaus' child will give it enough birth defects." Hayley responds and I narrow my eyes at her.

"And you carrying her will give it many more." I take the coffee cup and pour it into the sink. "Bloody hell, you two. That was the longest conversation the both of you had together." Rebekah comes in and takes a grape from the counter.

"She poured my coffee into the sink and I'm pretty sure the baby will be fine." Hayley tells the blonde vampire. She looks at the both of us before speaking, "It is her child, Hayley. She can bark orders if she wants."

"Thank you!" I smile at Rebekah and I quickly fetch something from the refrigerator to eat. After finding nothing pleasant to eat, I turn back around and walk into the foyer where Klaus is leaned up against the door.

"Morning." I greet him, giving him a kiss on the cheek but he grabs my face and guides my lips onto his.

"Ugh, get a room!" I hear Rebekah say from behind me. I turn around and Rebekah leans onto a desk besides her. "We did have one until you barged in." Klaus rolls his eyes at his sister.

She grimaces then pouts, "I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me. You know how I love to set things on fire!"

Klaus smirks, "Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot? Besides, they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless pregnant girl who's carrying my child!"

Rebekah rolls her eyes, "Oh, I am so moved by your new-found sense of fatherly duties towards the werewolf carrying your hybrid bun in her oven."

"The werewolf would like to know what the plan is." Hayley walks into the foyer and looks at the three of us. "The plan is to try and not kill my child before the second trimester." I say, giving her a glare.

"I thought we ended that quarrel in the kitchen! Now, Nik, tell us the plan." Rebekah states and looks at her brother. "Well, that depends what plan you mean. My plan for global domination, or Rebekah's plan to find love in a cruel, cruel world?"

Rebekah takes a pencil from the desk beside her and throws it in Klaus' direction. Klaus catches it easily with a smirk before it can embed itself in his face.

"The plan to rescue Elijah. You know, the good brother? The one who is now in the possession of your mortal enemy after you stabbed him in the back?" Hayley sighs and Klaus shrugs and smirks, "In the front, if we're being specific."

"You two said that you would get him back. So is there a plan, or what?" Hayley asks them, waiting as much as I. Klaus hasn't been updating me on what's going on. All I know is about some teenager witch that erased Rebekah's mind.

"Okay. Well, firstly, Marcel is not my mortal enemy—he's my friend. Albeit one who is unaware that I'm trying to sabotage his hold over the supernatural community of the French Quarter, but a friend nonetheless. And secondly, I daggered Elijah in order to gain Marcel's trust. If I had known he would place my brother in the hands of a particularly nasty teenage witch, I certainly would have weighed my options a bit differently. And thirdly—" He turns to Rebekah and gestures for her to speak. "Sister, please."
