A lot of innocent plants die

Next was Herbology. I inwardly groaned. Great, plants looooove me (Note the EXTREME sarcasm).

I followed Harry (what? he's so loud and easy to follow!) outside into the grounds, and into a greenhouse. I tried to stay as far away from all the plants as I could, but this place was overcrowded. I could almost hear Persephone cackling as the plants withered and died when they got within three feet from me ((I looked that up, by the way. 1 meter for all those non Americans)). I wanted nothing more than to get out of this blasted place. My anger must have shown on my face, since some of the other students were looking at me weirdly. Damn (Not Dam, I do not have anything to do with that).

The teacher, a middle aged lady with a friendly face, frowned at me, as if wondering why the plants were literally dying at my feet. Persephone was going to get so much joy out of this. Stupid goddess.

"Ah, Nico, was it? Have you had any kind of moriens animam potion?" She asks, her confusion causing her eyebrows to knit together.

"Ugh- no, professor." I replied truthfully. "But, urrr..." I start, thinking fast. "My step mother might have put some sort of, urrr, curse, that made the plants die around me?"

She seemed happy with that answer, if not a little shocked. "Do you not have a good relationship with your step mother?"

I resisted the urge to yell out biggest understatement of the century, and just shake my head.

A large green flower withered up and died, proving that point.

"So, if that's the case..." She looked a bit uncomfortable. "You should probably return to your dormitory and get ready for your next class..." She gave me a weak smile. "I don't really want all the plants in the greenhouse 3 to die."

Ron's mouth was open very wide, and his eyes were bulging. harry was looking at me in complete amazement. A couple of others gave me an envious look, and the rest just looked very surprised. Apparently, this didn't happen very often. Especially  on the first day back.

I gave a rare smile, collected my things, and walked back up to the castle. But instead of going through the doors, I took a sharp right, and moved to the lake. With ought thinking about it, I took out a drachma, and threw it into the very misty rainbow, and called for my sister's name ((NOT BIANCA OBVI)).

I saw my sister with the seven, except Jason, Leo, and Frank ((Jason and Frank because of their duties, and Leo, because of his quest with Apollo)).

"Nico, Hello! How are you?"

"Hey Death Breath."

"Nico, you don't call, you don't write, we've been worried!"

I smiled. I've got a crazy family, but a great family. "I'm good. And I don't really have that much time here. Classes all day, and the homework!"

Percy nodded. "This is why I don't like school. they think we don't have a life."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "It's the first day. It can't be that bad."

"Oh it is."

Annabeth squinted her eyes and looked into my background. "Is that a... Castle?"

"Yeah. it's quite nice." I replied, preparing for what was coming.

She looked like she was about to start asking a zillion questions, which I do not have the patience for, but Percy saved our lives

"So, ugh, Annabeth was reading up on these Wizards," he smirked. "And apparently Hecate created them for a back up plan, in case the demigods weren't enough to fight wars."

Annabeth nodded. "She gave the gift of magic to a fairly large group of mortals, and they passed down the power to their children and so on. It wasn't to aid the gods though." She gave Percy a sideways glance. "They were created to fight the demigods for Kronos. But then she decided to side with the gods after a bit of thinking, and they were given a new purpose." She frowned. "Something like that. the book I was reading was poorly translated. I wish I had the original..." She had a wistful look on her face.

"Right. Ok. So these guys were going to fight us, but now they are going help us?"

"Something like that." Piper replied.

"Say 'hi' to Katie for me!" Annabeth said as I cut the connection.

I could feel a presence behind me.

"You can come out now, professor Snape." I said, beckoning to the shadows under a tree, where a certain hook nosed teacher was hiding.
