Chapter 3

Hiccup's POV

Today is the day. I'm finally gonna ask her if she wants to go out. I'm feeling confident she will say yes.

I put on my armor and went downstairs. I grabbed a small basket of fish for Toothless to eat for breakfast.

"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" Dad said from behind me.

"Oh gods Dad you scared me. How long have you been there?"

"Eh about 10 minutes. So you didn't answer my question."

"Oh umm... What was your... question... again?" I hesitated.

"I asked, where are off to in such a hurry?"

"Oh just gotta feed Toothless then go to the academy for some stuff." Oh gods that's the worst lie ever.

"Alright. I'll be around the island and won't be back till late."

"Ok bye dad!" I shouted as I ran through the door to Toothless.

Ugh such an awkward conversation. I can't tell him I'm gonna go ask out Astrid he would want details and it'll be even more awkward.

"Alright Toothless let's go for a little ride" I said grabbing the saddle and strapping it on. "Astrid's house."

Astrid's POV

"Stormfly you awake? I brought you some chicken!" I said into Stormfly's pen.

I heard a gargle and knew it was her. I gently tossed the chicken in and saw her devour it. I turned around to put the bucket back in my house and noticed a black dragon. I squinted as the dragon landed because his wings blew dust around.

"Hiccup? What are you doing here? I thought we were all meeting at the academy?" I said, confused on why he's here, but also happy to see him.

"Oh yeah we're still meeting at the academy I just needed to ask you a question."

"Ok... Go ahead." I stuttered. I'm nervous for the question.

"Do you maybe wanna... like, gooutwithmesometime?" He said speeding through the last part.

"Uhh, what?" I asked hoping it was what I think it was.

"Do you wanna go out with me?" He said slower then last time.

Oh my gods. He asked me out!!! I'm so happy!

"I would love to Hiccup." I said with a goofy grin.

"Great! I'll pick you up later today, but for now we gotta go to the academy for training. See you there!" He said as he hoped on Toothless and flew off.

"Alright Stormfly, time to go." I said as I jumped into her saddle and flew off.
