The next morning, Shannon awoke before Kailan for a change so she decided to let him sleep. She crept out of her room and found Jamie alone in the kitchen
"Morning" she said
"Morning, happy boxing day" he replied
"You doing anything exciting today?" she asked
"Well, if I was in England then today would be cheesy films, lots of leftovers and general laziness" he laughed
"So you're gonna do the same here then?" Shannon laughed
"Yeah probably" he nodded as Shannon poured herself a coffee
Tristan soon appeared and the three of them went to the living room to choose what film to watch first.
"Oooh, it's a wonderful life" sighed Jamie "It's not Christmas without watching it's a wonderful life"
They continued looking through the TV guides and were making a final list of things they wanted to watch when Kailan appeared in the doorway
"What are you guys doing?" he yawned
"Choosing which cheesy Christmas stuff to watch" replied Tristan "Duh! Obvs!"
Kailan laughed and joined Shannon on the sofa
"I gotta head in a minute babe" he told her
"At least get breakfast first" she said
"You're kidding right" he laughed "I don't need to eat again for at least another week"
Shannon, Tristan and Jamie all laughed and Shannon went to pour Kailan a coffee while he went for a shower
Once Kailan had showered and changed for work and drunk his coffee he said his goodbyes and Shannon walked him to the door
"See you later?" He asked
"You bet" she replied as he hugged her tightly
She watched him jog down the road towards the beach and she went back inside to join Tristan and Jamie on the sofa and they began their day of TV watching
They were only about halfway through the first film when Darren and Rachel appeared and joined them.
They all stayed in front of the TV for the rest of the afternoon and then decided that a swim in the pool might shake them all back to life.
"So what did you get for Christmas from Kailan?" asked Rachel as they sat on the sun loungers around the pool.
"This" Shannon replied, showing her the necklace
"Gorgeous" Rachel gasped
"And a promise that he will save money every day so we can be together again soon" Shannon added
"Awwww that is so sweet" sighed Rachel
"It is" Shannon replied quietly
"Have you thought about what's gonna happen yet?" Rachel asked
"Well in an ideal world, the long distance thing wouldn't be a problem, Kailan would never meet any other girls and of course, we wouldn't live on opposite sides of the world" Shannon replied
Rachel nodded but said nothing
"What, that's it?" Shannon snapped
"What?" replied Rachel
