A new day, a fresh new start. "Casey! Time for school!!!! Hurry up!!!"
"All right! I am coming! For the 100th time!!!"
--30 min later--
"Well that took forever!"
"Well sorry, not my fault." Casey says brushing her hair on the way to school.
"Bye Casey and Denice! Have a nice day at school!" Linda tells her younger sisters.
"Like it is ever nice..." Casey mutters.
"Oh come on Casey! It is not that bad." Denice says.
Once at school, Linda walks into school confidently, with her headphones in, like usual. She hurries to the meeting spot. Stella is already there, reading a book.
"Heya Stella!"
"You made up with Grayson I suppose? Good for you, do whatever you want, but don't say I didn't warn ya, and definitely don't come crying to me." Stella mumbles without looking up.
"Okay Stella, yes, we did forgive each other, and since when have I ever come crying to you? This sounds like a novel. What novel are you reading?" Linda asks curiously. She grabs the book and reads an excerpt: "So you have decided to ignore my advice and go back with him? Delilah, good for you, do whatever you want, but do not say I didn't warn you, and definitely do not come crying to me."
"I get it now." Linda says nodding to herself. "But seriously! It was all a misunderstanding! Can't we just go back to the way everything was before this?"
"Whatever. Can you give me back my book now?!" Stella says impatiently.
Linda gives it back, and then has an idea. She takes out her book, and turns to an excerpt she highlighted. She starts reading it aloud.
"Hey, everyone makes mistakes. You do not know his real intentions. The most reliable source of information is the person themselves. No rumor or conclusion you jump to can replace the value of a person's own words. Until you hear it from them, do not assume anything." Linda finishes. She waits for a reaction, and it definitely comes.
"It is all clear to me. I do not need any help sorting my thoughts. I warned you, and I am keeping my standpoint."
Linda flips through the pages and finds an adequate response: "However hard it may be, we can all be wrong about people. We all jump to conclusions. Maya, I need you to be able to see past your first conclusion, or peace for the kingdom will be at stake."
At this Stella laughs. "I know that book! I loved that book! Fine fine!!! I'll give him a second chance! But, at the first sign of trouble, I'll be there for you." she smiles, and stands up to give Linda a hug.
*clap clap clap* They hear from behind.
"Two geeks sorted this out perfectly together! Awesome, my intervention won't be necessary!" Coral was standing there, looking satisfied.
"Whoever said I was a geek?!" Linda accused Coral laughing.
Stella laughed, and peace was restored in the kingdom of their friendship.
"I never expected this much drama at the beginning of the year!" Coral said. "It is awesome!"
"Ahh, so you have been enjoying this, haven't you?" Stella says.
"I cannot forgive you for that!!!" She says playfully. The whole group is enjoying themselves when the mood killer bell rings...
"Awwwww noooooooo! Next year HAS to be different! See ya gals later!" They all said at the same time.
"Jinx!"
Linda walked to her first period. She saw Thyme, and walked up to her. "Hello!"
Thyme turned around. "Oh hey! What's been up? The whole school has noticed something odd going on in your "meeting spot" in the mornings... Everything okay?"
"Oh, yeah. Everything is good, hehe. The whole school?!"
"Yeah, you guys are a bit... how do I put this... loud...?...obnoxious...?"
"Hehehe....Oops.....!"
"So I guess it is solved now? You seemed out of it this week, but yesterday and today you seem fine."
"Yeah, everything is good. Life is good."
"That's a huge statement, but I'll take it, optimist." Thyme smiled, and Linda smiled back.
Grayson walked into the classroom. "Hey Linda! How are you today?"
He walks in for a hug, but she does not respond, so it turns into this awkward stand still kind of stop in front of her. You know what I mean.
"I am good, nice to see you too."
"Hehe, yeah. Hi Thyme." He says, not knowing what else to say. "Uhm, Imma go to my friend Jim, you guys go on with your conversation, hehe." he says, walking over to his friend Jim.
Linda nods, and looks at Thyme. She definitely seemed to be enjoying this. "He likes you he likes you, he liiiiiiikes youuuu!" she whispers into Linda's ear. "It couldn't be more oooooobvious!!!"
Linda shakes her head. "We're just friends, nothing else."
"awww....Unrequited..." Thyme says soft enough for Linda not to hear. "I get it." She says a bit louder. "Was just teasing."
"I know."
Throughout the class Thyme wondered how Linda could be so blind to Grayson's feelings. Was this type of complete denial was even possible? Well, it seemed so...
Then the bell rang and as Linda got ready to leave for her Biology period, Grayson stopped by her. "Same class, same destination. Walk together?"
"Why not?" Linda said smiling.
They started walking. "So, what music do you listen to? I assume you love music, since you are in the Varsity Choir."
"Yeah, I do. I listen to about everything, but I love pop, electro and Nightcore. I know, not what you'd expect from someone like me."
"Wow, definitely unexpected, but suits you right. I like how unpredictable you can be."
"I never saw it as a great quality, but thank you anyway."
Stella saw Linda and immediately walked up to her in the hallway. "Need to talk to you, QUICK!"
"Go on without me Grayson, I'll catch up to you in the classroom."
"Alright." He said as if it were no big deal, but inside he was disappointed, since the conversation was going so smoothly!
"What is it?" Linda asked curiously.
"Look! Over THERE!!!!!!!" Stella whispered, carefully pointing at someone.
