Alrighty, I'm going to try doing this 'post everyday' thing again just like I did for the last bit of book one. I'm probably going to writing until I cry, but that's okay! :) Here's day three in a row, enjoy!

Episode 3 - Orion Pax (3)

[Amanda]

On the other side of the space bridge, was Cybertron. My gaze travelled around the scene in awe, still unable to process what I was seeing. Cybertron, as in the Autobot homeworld that we heard so much about over the last few months.

"I can't believe this!" Jack exclaimed, his voice coming in over the comms. "We're actually on another planet. Arcee, this is incredible." Then he noticed her silence. "Arcee?"

I turned and saw her looking torn. Then I realized it. Cybertron looked broken. Barren. It looked dead. There was debris and evidence of destruction everywhere, from the cracks in the ground to the destroyed buildings around us. Cybertron truly had fallen.

"This isn't how I wanted you to see my home." Arcee said.

"I'm sorry." The words left my mouth before I realized it.

She shook her head sadly. "In the fog of war, it's hard to see beyond the next leg of the mission, or the next punch in the fight. We did everything to save Cybertron. But, when the fog lifted, there wasn't much left to save."

And I felt that. All around me, I could feel how lost everything was. Maybe it was the whole Champion of Cleona voodoo, but something inside me made me almost see the battles and deaths that happened here.

"Arcee, Amanda, Jack!" Ratchet's voice came over the comms. "Do you copy?"

Surprisingly, the signal was pretty strong. I had to give Raf props for that.

"Roger." Jack said. "We're on Cybertron."

There were several cheers on the other end, before Bulkhead spoke up. "Just keep the sight seeing to a minimum."

"Indeed." Ratchet said. "We don't know if your journey ahead is five kliks, or 5,000."

  "Understood." Arcee confirmed. "We're out."

I pulled out the key card, watching it's light blue glow. "Ratchet said the key card would guide us, but how or what are we supposed to-"

My voice was cut off when the key card glowed brighter once I pointed it in one direction. I gave it a test, waving it around slowly, and noticed it only brightened in that direction.

"There we go." Arcee said and transformed. Jack got on first, me sitting behind him, and Arcee began speeding off in that direction. Scenery blurred by, not allowing my attention to drift for a second from the key card, which kept getting brighter as we drove.

"Keep going that way." I said as we sped towards a hulking tower.

"Toward Kaon?" Arcee asked. "The Decepticon capital?"

"Great," Jack said enthusiastically and Arcee skidded to a stop before we reached the front gates of the city.

"We're on foot from here." She said. "Don't want engine noise to attract unwanted attention."

"Cons?" I asked as we got off.

She transformed, unsheathed her gun and shook her head. "Vermin."

I looked back down at the key card, which glowed when pointed towards Kaon. "This way."

We walked into the city, the walls around us looming overhead. I could practically feel the death that surrounded this place and shivered. If out there was giving me a bad feeling, in here was much worse.
