Yusei's POV
"And that's the whole story." Akiza and I had just finished telling the rest of our friends what's been going on. They all stared at us with shocked expressions.

I shared a nervous look with Akiza.
"Akiza! Why didn't you tell us!," Sherry started.
"I didn't want to bug you guys! High school is hard enough," She stated.
"Plus, it's not like I'm drowning. I don't need saving, I don't need help." Typical Akiza. Always thinking she has to do everything by herself.

I want her to know she can trust all of us. She never has to do anything alone.
"Akiza...we're all in this together. One of us gets pulled into a murder investigation all of us gets pulled into a murder investigation," I reasoned.
"But that's the thing! I didn't want to drag you guys into this! You all have your life ahead of you. I didn't want to drag you down," She said.
"You're not dragging us down. We're bringing you up," I spoke firmly. Everyone else nodded.
"But I'm such a failure. You guys be honest with me. You don't want me around. You never did and you never wil-." I kissed her gently.
"Don't ever talk about yourself like that," I told her.
"Hey, Akiza look at me," I told her. She lifted her face up to meet mine.
"You're perfect just the way you are. We love you just the way you are. I love you just the way you are," I told her the truth. She smiled and hugged me.

Everyone else joined in.
"I love you guys," She said and rested her head on my shoulder when everyone pulled away from the hug.
"We love you too, Akiza," I said and placed a gentle kiss on the crown of her head.

Akiza decided to stay the night. There was only one bed in my whole house, my bed, so we decided to share it.
"Yusei?"
"Hmm?," I asked and turned on my side to face her.
"I can't sleep," She spoke.
"You want to go for a ride?," I asked her. She nodded.

A couple of weeks later.
"What do you mean it's complicated!," Bruno screeched at me.
"I mean, I love her Bruno! I love her, Bruno. I'm just afraid if we dated I'd mess it up and she would never talk to me again," I confessed.
"Hey, you're Yusei Fudo. Any girl would be lucky to have you," Bruno comforted.
"And you're not going to mess it up. You love her too much. Now please, ask her out already. And don't chicken out again," He pointed at me. I chuckled.
"Okay, okay I won't."
"Good. Now I got to go, I'll see you later." Bruno waved as he excited my garage. I took in a deep breath.

Okay Yusei...this is it. You can do it.

No chickening out. I got on my motorcycle and drove to Akiza's house.

I knocked on her door.
"Hey, Akiza," I said once she opened the door. She smiled at me.
"I'm just here to tell you that I can't do it anymore. I can't be that perfect big brother you want me to be. I love you, Akiza. I can't sit back and watch you fall in love with the wrong guy when the right guy is right in front of you. I care and love you too much. Anyways that's it. If you decide never to talk to me again b-." Our lips moved in perfect sync. I can't believe it.

Akiza just kissed me! Does that mean she likes me too?

She pulled away.
"I love you too, Yusei." That was all I needed to hear. I pulled her into a hug and I don't know how long we stayed like that but it seemed like forever.

This is all I ever truly wanted. Just us, together, alone, with her in my arms.

I no longer have to mope around longing for her. I have her.

And that's the only thing I ever want.
