"Y/N ah, you shouldn't be nervous. My parents already gave you their trust even before you have met them." You just nod as a response.
Today was the day you were going to meet Taehyung's parents. He was always busy for the past year, so he didn't really have the chance until now to tell you his feelings.
He held your hand before he led you to a long way framed with different plants and an assortment of flowers.
"I guess your mother loves gardening." You smiled as you looked at the beautiful carved landscape.
By the end of the road was a humble house, not too rural nor too urban.
You were greeted by the smell of food from a small room, which you assumed was the kitchen.
Taehyung knocked on the door a few times before a young lady appeared. She eyed you for a few seconds, and you gave a sincere bow as a reply.
"Eon Jin ah! It's been a long time!" Taehyung gave the girl a hug. She looked a bit younger than him.
She welcomed you both inside but still didn't take the glare off of you.
You seemed uncomfortable, knowing that you have never been introduced to anyone's family before.
Girlfriend, bestfriend, there was never a time when you were formally introduced.
"Taehyung hyung!" A young man rushed to Taehyung from a specific side of the area.
"Jeong Gyu, you've grown a lot! You're a lot more manly than I am now!" The other male smiled and bowed formally as soon as he saw you.
You returned the bow with another smile on your face.
"Jeong Gyu, call eomma and appa!" The female said. "Ne!"
Taehyung gestured you to sit on one of the couches. You became uneasy but you always thought positive and that things would go well.
"Taehyung! You came to visit us!" A middle-aged couple entered the room, giving Taehyung a hug. His parents, perhaps.
You immediately stood up straight and bowed almost 90 degrees. When you stood back up, you were surprised to receive a hug from Taehyung's mother.
Your eyes widened from the sudden action, so you looked at Taehyung. He just nodded.
You couldn't hug the woman back since you were enclosed in her arms.
She then lets you go after a few seconds and held your hands.
"So you're Y/N ah? My son's savior? We're so happy to be able to finally meet you." Her bright, warm smile almost reached her ears.
It was like a warm smile you have never received from your mother.
You bowed again, slightly higher this time, and said, "Thank you for being my blood donor. It honestly could've been my own mother or someone else, but my thanks for you isn't enough for saving my life, Mrs. Kim."
She held you by your shoulders, straightening you up. "It's just returning the favor. It's been a year but, thank you for saving Taehyung."
You smiled, showing your teeth this time. "Oh, and come to the dining room in ten. We'll be having lunch."
Taehyung nodded at his father before sitting you both down. His younger sister, you assumed, then went up to the both of you by the vacant space on the couch.
"I'm Taehyung's sister. Please call me Eon Jin," she looked so beautiful with a smile on. "Oh, and you are miss Y/N? The miss Y/N?"
You didn't know what to answer, so Taehyung just nodded with a smile to her.
She looked shocked as she used her hand to cover her mouth which was in an 'o'.
She forced a smile before she said, "I'm sorry for glaring at you earlier... I thought you were just some random girl he brought here. I'm sorry. I know it's been a year but, thank you for saving oppa. Taking a bullet isn't an easy thing."
You held one of her hands. "It's okay. It's a sister's instinct. And thank you for your kind words. Please feel comfortabl to call me Y/N ah."
"Please help yourselves, lunch is ready!" The young man earlier appeared from a corner.
"Y/N unnie, that boy right there is Jeong Gyu. He's our brother." She smiled before leading you both to the dining table.
You sat beside Taehyung. The food made your mouth water since you haven't had any breakfast. All morning you just practiced your introduction for when you're about to meet Tae's parents.
In the middle of lunch, Mrs. Kim's had this question that caught you off guard. You coughed as you were eating and Taehyung patted your back before handing you a glass of water.
Her question was, "Tae, is there something between you and Y/N?"
Taehyung looked at his mother before holding your hand in front of the table.
"Last month, I asked her to be my girlfriend, and she said yes." You blushed and gulped.
"Congratulations to both of you then! You introduced yourselves as a couple so late, but we give our full blessing." You blinked a few times before the thought actually registered in your mind.
You breathe in heavily as you looked at all the Kims. Their smiles were all warm and you felt welcome by their side. You spent the night at their house, answering questions about your relationship.
When it was time to leave, you heard Eon Jin call you, gently grabbing both your hands. "Unnie, please take care of my brother. Our cousins has been through many heartbreaks and I don't think he can stand it if his own relationship breaks too."
You carressed her cheek. "Of course. You have my word, okay? I love you brother with all my heart and I will never hurt him. Thank your parents for me, alright?"
She nodded before waving you goodbye.
Being with Taehyung's family feels much more of an unconditional love unlike from your own.
