I sing a quiet French lullaby to the boys to get them to sleep.

"Bonne nuit cher enfant Quand tu dors dans mes bras"

I rock both boys in my arms.

"Le monde tourne en rond Et le jour reviendra,"

Gilbert yawns, John soon does the same.

"Jours de larmes, De sourires, Joirs de peines,"

They both close their eyes and snuggle close to me.

"Ou de joies mais ce soir tu t'endors
Comme un ange dans mes bras."

I sing the song once again and both boys are asleep. I carefully lay them each in their cots. I kiss them both on the head.

"bonne nuit mes chéris." I whisper.

(Good night my darlings)

I go into Frances room, and see her reading a book.

"It's time for bed, mom amour." I whisper.

"I know mommy. Daddy tucked me in but I want you to tuck me in too." She says, setting her book down.

I smile, "Alright, mon amour. Lay down."

Frances lays down, and I tuck her in.

"Can you sing mommy?" Frances asks, I nod.

"Of course, mon amour." I smile. I sing the same song I sung to John and Gilbert. My mother used to sing it to me when I was a child. By the time the song is over Frances is almost asleep.

"Bonne nuit mom amour." I whisper.

"Bonne nuit maman." Frances whispers. I kiss her head and leave her room.

(Good night mommy)

I quietly walk down the hall to mine and John's room. John looks up at me and smiles.

"You're a wonderful mother." He says and I lay down next to him. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me close to him.

"You're a wonderful father." I whisper back. John kisses my head and I look up so I can kiss his lips.

"I love you so much." John whispers.

"I love you." I lay my head on his chest and fall asleep.

Luckily the boys didn't wake up at all that night, so both John and I got to sleep through the night.

...

"Mommy! Daddy!"

John and I are woken up to Frances jumping on our bed.

"Oui, mon amour?" I ask, sitting up and looking at my daughter.

"Today is Philip's birthday!" She cheers.

"January 22. Yes it is his birthday." John replies.

"Mommy can we go get him a present?" Frances asks.

"Of course, amour, just give Daddy and I a few minutes to get dressed." I smile.

"Okay! Thank you Mommy, thank you Daddy!" Frances jumps off the bed and runs out of the room.

I get out of bed and change into a light blue dress. John remains in bed.

"You got the boys?" I ask.

"Yes, of course my love." He says. I kiss him and leave the room.

I find Frances already dressed in a pink dress.

"Wow baby you never wear that dress!" I smile.

"I know, but it's Philip's favorite so I thought I would surprise him and wear it." Frances says.

I smile, "How sweet of you. Now let's hurry so we can get back before Philip wakes up." I take Frances hand and leave our house.

...

Frances bought Philip a ring, and herself one as well. It's just a simple small band.

"It's a friendship ring!" She says.

"Well let's go to the Hamilton's and give it to Philip." I say.

Once we get to the Hamilton estate, I knock on the door and Eliza opens it, Angelica on her hip, and Philip behind her, standing on the top of his toes to look over Eliza's dress.

"Hi Frances!" Philip says. Eliza lets Philip out the door so he can hug Frances.

"Hi Philip! Happy birthday!" Frances smiles, "I got you a present!" She hands Philip the ring.

"I love it! You have one too!" Philip says, noticing the matching ring on Frances' finger.

"They're friendship rings!"

"Best friends forever!" Philip says, they both link their pinkies and smile.

"Best friends forever!"

...

the translation for the lullaby is "Good night dear child
When you sleep in my arms
The world is going round
And the day will come again
Days of tears
Of smiles
Days of sentences
Or joys
But tonight you fall asleep
Like an angel in my arms"
