She told him that it was just a temporary feeling and that he would regain the ability to feel his legs sooner or later, but whilst trying to convince him, she couldn't tell who she was trying to persuade to believe it, Kyle or herself.
She screamed for help, then soon after roughly 17 firefighters came in to help live the rubble from Kyle and the three other men, and then they escorted the mother, baby and the child from the danger zone and back into safety.
After Kyle was freed from being trapped, he was taken to hospital, and Abby went with him. Once they reached the hospital, both Kyle and Abby both thought that it was too soon to be back here after Abby being shot. Kyle was taken in to life-saving surgery immediately, and Abby was made to sit in the waiting room next to the paternity ward.
Whilst Abby was praying for Kyle to be okay, she saw a familiar face, it was the woman and the baby that she had helped after the explosion. The woman, Lauren sat with her and held her hand, reassuring her that it was going to be okay. Abby was told she would have to wait hours for Kyle, and Lauren offered to stay with her, Abby accepted the generous offer without a shadow of doubt.
