Chapter 26

The next day Kyle heard a knock on the door and opened it to see a toddler stood there, she was holding a letter. The girl looked freezing so Kyle took her in and made her some warm soup, while she was eating the soup, he read the letter he girl had arrived with.

The note was addressed to Kyle, and it was from Lauren! The note read:

'Dear Kyle, if you are reading this that means I am now dead, that means my time as one of Evie's hostages was over, I regret to inform you that whilst I was trapped, I met your father, and he was sadly killed by Evie. You may be wondering about the young girl who was at your door, but wonder no more. This is Gracie, your daughter.

You and I had shared a night of passion a few years ago, and I thought that was it, just a one night stand. But then the best thing that had ever happened to me had gone out of that one night. I hope you can find it in your heart to take care and give a home over your daughters head, I'm sorry to just spring this on you.

Kyle's hands were shaking rapidly. He was shell shocked. He couldn't believe what he had just read. The letter in his trembling hands had just changed his life. He had just lost his dad and gained a daughter. He hadn't even been informed about the death of his own father. Abby was no where to be seen and Kyle really needed to tell her what had just happened, but whilst he waited, he took the chance to get to know his... daughter...
