The pair sat talking for at least two hours, and in that time Abby told Lauren everything about her crazy ex-husband Alex who was a murderer and he was the one responsible for the explosion at the courthouse.

Lauren couldn't believe what she was hearing, the way Abby described him was enough to make your spine tingle and your stomach to turn, but it was all true. Lauren compared Alex to the sort of villain you get in the comics and movies. She felt sick just hearing about him.
They soon changed the subject, they started talking about their childhoods, then that inevitably turned to gossip.

Kyle had been in the operating theatre for 5 hours now, Abby was getting weary of the fact that she had heard nothing about her dear brothers well-being. Then Lauren told Abby that she had to go home to put the baby into bed because it was 2:00 am. Abby got the number of her new friend and bidder her farewell.

It got to about 2:45 am and the doctors came to see Abby, they told her to go home and get some rest and to come back later on in the morning. At first she was hesitant, but as she lost to strength to keep holding her eyes open, she gave in and got into a taxi.

Once Abby got home, she arrived at her door to see a dozen red roses tied up in a lavender slinky string. She automatically assumed they were for Kyle, but then she saw a note in the bouquet, it was addressed to her not Kyle. The note read:

'Dear Abby, Alex may have failed in killing you and your family, but I won't fail, you won't live to give birth to your baby, you have my word...'
