This is the final chapter, but don't worry, book 3 is on the horizon...
Then after seconds of falling, but what felt like hours, they hit the floor with a thud, Abby was unconscious and bleeding from her head, and Noah was screaming out, and he wasn't hurt as badly because he had landed on his mother. Their lifeless bodies were at the bottom step.
Lauren was trying to disable the bomb when she heard the thud, but she ignored it as she needed to stop the bomb from blowing.
Back on the rooftop, Evie and Kyle were arguing, they were pushing and punching each other, but then everything took a turn for the worst. Kyle punched Evie so hard that she stumbled a few steps back, she ended up stumbling so far back that she fell backwards off of the building, but as she fell, she grabbed Kyle's arm, pulling him down with her. The pair were hurdling 70 ft at 100 mph.
While everything was happening around her, Lauren broke down crying because she couldn't get the bomb to stop, the timer was counting down to everyone's doom. Then the final ten seconds before the explosion approached, then it began:
10. 9. 8. 7...
There were seconds left. Lauren cried out for help. But it was pointless, Evie's apartment was sound proof. Lauren gave up all hope. Her heart began racing at an unearthly speed. Her life flashed before her eyes, she thought about Gracie, Kyle, her baby boy, the day she met first met Abby in the court room.
6. 5. 4...
Then the timer reached the final three seconds, there was nothing she could do, it was all over, she began looking around the room to look once more for any more hostages, and she saw a face that shocked her to her core, Alex's, unsure whether it was a ghost or not, she closed her eyes and let fate take its course.
3. 2. 1...
Leaving Abby and Noah at the bottom of the stairs, Kyle and Evie falling from the building, Lauren trapped with the bomb, and the whole building about to explode endangering many, many lives.
BANG!!!
