// this is a pretty short chapter :p I just needed to get this out so I can move on to the camping trip

Izuku fidgeted, he tried his best to act calm but he's not doing a very good job at it, his father just came home and wanted to talk to him alone in his room, he knows his father knows about the camping trip since he messaged him first about it, he told Izuku to wait for him before buying anything for the camp after all, he knows that that information isn't public, there's an unsettling feeling in his stomach knowing that the villains found out, either that or there's a traitor in their school

It would make sense, it would make a lot of sense, villains shouldn't know almost immediately about their plans so it would make sense for someone to be a traitor but...

There's only one person that I know who can be the traitor

I'm sure... I'm sure that it's not-

"Izuku... are you okay?" Izuku nodded a bit too fast

"S-So um.... what about the camping trip dad?"

"... You should know already what it means for me to know this right?" Izuku nods solemnly

"Are you going to tell anyone?" Izuku frowns

"S-Should I?" Hisashi nodded

"B-But I might be ratting you out... why would you want that?"

"You're my son Izuku, I care more about your safety than my life, please, tell someone" Izuku nodded

He still felt uncomfortable

"That's not what I want to talk to you about though"

"H-Huh?" Hisashi held one of Izuku's hand and looked down

"Is it true that you're the next symbol of peace?"

Izuku blinked

Should he tell the truth?

He should right?

It's his father, he wouldn't tell the villains that he isn't, it'll put Izuku in danger for lying with the league

But for some reasons...

For some reason I feel like I should lie

"H-How did you know that...?" Izuku felt his father clench tightly into his hand before slowly releasing him, were those tears?

"Izuku, please, promise me one thing" Hisashi faced Izuku and hugged him tightly, Izuku can feel his shirt wetting

"H-Huh?"

"Now that I know that you really are the next symbol of peace... it's for certain, we'll have to fight each other one day" Izuku hesitantly hugged his father back, for some reason he felt like he should cry too, but he can't bring his tears out

"Please, please promise me that you'll defeat me, promise me that you'll be strong enough to fight me off, please Izuku I don't want to be the one to kill you" a shiver ran up Izuku's spine, his father is a villain, he always was but isn't this just wrong? Why does he have to be forced to try and kill Izuku just because he's a symbol of peace? Is that title that important?

"Izuku, please, promise me... don't end up like them please, please be strong enough..." his father repeated like a mantra

Izuku didn't know and he's not really sure if he wants to know

His father had to leave after that, he left Izuku with a bunch of camping equipments and for the first time since he was little, his father left, kissing his forehead and hugging him before leaving, it made him feel happy but incredibly unsettled too

"Sorry for being kinda late! My dad stopped by and dropped a bunch of camping equipment on my room! I'm pretty sure I'll just have to buy snacks or something"

Izuku smiled but there's still a bunch of thoughts in his head, he mostly followed his friends around

"Symbol of peace, what are you thinking about? You're so focused you didn't even notice me..." he felt a familiar set of fingers gloss over his shoulder,

Four fingers...

"Izuku? Who's that?" Ochaco asks

"Oh this my friend! I haven't seen you in so long how have you been?!" Izuku ask excitedly, hugging his ' friend'

"You guys go on without me! I'll just catch up a bit with you afterwards okay?" Ochaco nods before leaving them to their selves

Izuku slowly unhugged his 'friend'

"So I'm guessing you know about the camping trip?"

"We have a pretty reliable news source..." Izuku bit his lips, deeply unsettled, not because of the villains but his list of who the traitor is is definitely getting shorter and shorter, he hates this so much

"Oh? Afraid?"

"N-No... but I'm guessing you have someone on UA right?"

"Do we?"

"I hope not, I really hope not"

"Don't worry, you'll find out soon... until then, do you want to get some tacos?"

"Huh?"

"Kurogiri gave me money, he just doesn't know yet"

SunflowerDaddy🌻 : only class 1-A and B along with all the other school staff knows but it might've spreaded to the other freshmans too

Izukukun : oh... okay

SunflowerDaddy🌻 : I won't be coming to the camping trip

SunflowerDaddy🌻 : I'll ask for back up around the area

Izukukun : thanks dad

Izukukun : and if you don't mind, do you know what happened to the person who had your quirk before you??

SunflowerDaddy🌻 : Izuku? Why are you asking that question

Izukukun : my dad mentioned it to me after I did tell him that I'm the symbol of peace, he told me not to be like them, what happened?
