Pulling up outside my parents home I walked up the steps knocking gently on the front door.
Instantly mother answer with a giant smile of relief . embracing me into a deep hug.
"Oh Bella. What a relief " she coed "I'm so happy your alive"
"Of course I am mom" I eased
She let go and led me in
"Where have you been?" She asked "Dennis honey...Bella is here!"
Dad came rushing through embracing me..letting go with a smile.
"I escaped. Yeah I was hurt but I fixed myself up. Rested for a few days then came to see you both"
I wasn't exactly Lying. Just about the fact the Gotham psychopath took care of me, I was involved in a heist, danced at a strip club and had sex with the joker..so no I wasn't exactly lying.
"You could have called" dad admitted
"Oh that doesn't matter ..Bella is safe" mum eased
She made coffee and we sat down and talked.
"I see the joker escaped" mum sighed
"Yeah I was his therapist" I admitted "I was assigned to him but don't worry I had no contact with him outside the asylum"
"Ugh I should hope so" mum admitted "was he not terrifying?"
"Hmm kinda" I said "just his smile"
Another lie.
"Hopefully batman will catch him" dad admitted
"And put him where? Now that arkham's gone" I said realising i sounded defensive.
"Anyways enough about him...I have some for you to meet since your single and over the whole jack Napier incident" mum explained
"What do you mean?" I asked
"My work friend Amanda has a son about your age called Edward. I think he's twenty five. I thought it would he a good idea for you both to meet" mum explained
Oh shit!
"What does he look like?" I asked
"Sharp young man. Brown flowing hair, tanned skin, bright eyes and muscle" mum explained
"Okay erm...when do I meet him?" I asked
"Saturday night" mum eased "me, you, your dad , Amanda's husband johnny and Edward"
My ears pricked when I heard the name johnny.
"Johnny what?"i asked
"Johnny frost" mum answered "why?"
NO ! This is bad . this is really bad.
"Oh I thought I knew the name...doesn't matter" I eased
"So is that a yes for Saturday?" Mum asked
"Yeah of course" I agreed
Of course I didn't want to go. This would be a disaster. My heart is for somebody else and that's how it will stay!.
So I said my goodbyes and headed out.
