I'm standing here,
Staring down,
Into the deep
The dark waters
Of this Wishing Well.
For what I want
I do not know.
My heart's desire
Is rather hard to follow.
I wish for you,
My close friend.
You have stayed
Through thick and thin.
I may be a bother
An annoyance to some
But somehow yet
You have not run.
I wish you were mine
To hold and to love
Til death do us part
To the heavens above.
I wish for your happiness
Even on dark days.
I hope you find love
And enjoy its ways.
I wish I could be
That happiness for you
But instead I will
Help to bring a love true
To you my friend
Whom I care for so.
I wish for your love,
For your sweet embrace,
But more than that,
I wish for your smiling face.
So in this well
I will throw a coin.
My wish I make,
The hope I have,
The chance I take,
That maybe,
Just maybe,
I may be-----
The happiness for you
And you'll love me.
