My Guardian Demon

"Wake up you chocolate monster," I heard a loud yell near my ear startling me.

I jumped from the shock but fell from my comfy warm bed straight onto my face.

Whoever has disturbed my slumber is in for a world of pain. Then I remembered what happened last night with Max and the other demons who were after my necklace.

How on earth did I end up here and what on earth did I do to the ones who tried to hurt me?

"You're an idiot," I mumbled.

I felt my nose to see if there was any blood because I am that dramatic.

"I think you've just broken my nose," I winced as soon as I touched a certain spot, which will most likely end up forming into a bruise at some point.

"It's not broke Athena, now wake up before I eat all your chocolate pancakes," Aiden rushed out as he still sat on my bed.

"Well, aren't you going then?" I asked.

My brother kept on staring at me for a while until he let out a deep sigh and hung his head low. Well, this isn't like my brother at all, wonder what's going on in that thick head of his. Probably not much.

The room was silent as we both just sat on my bed waiting for one of us to talk first. My brother's head snapped up and there were tears in his eyes, and as one of them managed to escape I noticed his hands were slightly shaking.

I scooted over so I was closer to him and I took both of his hands in mine.

"Why are you crying?" I whispered.

"I didn't mean any of that yesterday," His voice came out a little croaky.

"I don't blame you for anything Aiden, you were possessed by a demon. Obviously, at the time it hurt because I had no idea at the time and some of the words that were said were really hurtful but now I know it wasn't you. Don't beat yourself up about it," I sniffled as soon as more tears fell down his cheeks.

One thing I hated the most in this world apart from mushrooms, spiders and my ex-boyfriend with all of his followers are seeing both of my brothers hurt.

My family meant everything to me, and even though I and Aiden fight and argue like cat and dog most of the time I hate seeing me upset.

"It's fucking shit that you're in so much danger Athena and it kills me knowing I can't do anything to help. I don't know what I would do If I and Austin lost you. Austin told me what happened whilst I was passed out."

I'm going to excuse his swearing right now, he's upset.

"I would like to know what happened too," I mumbled to myself.

"You don't remember?" He asked confusingly.

"I remember being chased by two demons whilst Max fought off the others and I was stood outside with them. The last thing I remember is this bright white light appearing around us and that's it," I shrugged.

"You killed them, Athena, with your powers. Max and Zac were shocked at the amount of power you hold along with that necklace. Apparently, no one can truly kill a demon apart from Satan, the angels, and well... now you," He paused to wipe his tears away.

"I love you little sis, and I'll do anything I can so we don't lose you," His voice came out soft.

Little does he know that in order for me to kill Satan and give demons a chance like Zac for a normal human life I need to die. I can't tell him yet though because everyone I love will try and stop me which I can't allow. I don't want the demons to win but I can't lose Max or Zac, and I really need to speak to Nathanial alone soon.

I wrapped my arms around my brother's torso and intertwined my fingers together behind his back. My face buried in his chest and then I felt him do the same as he gave me a gentle kiss on the side of my head.

"I love you too," I choked out feeling my own tears fall down my face now.

Suddenly I heard the sound of a photo being taken making me snap my head towards the direction to see my even older brother standing in the doorway to my room with his phone out and a grin spread across his face.

Aiden jumped back and glared over at Austin as well as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"What? This thing that just happened..." He pointed at the both of us, "was very rare so I really had to take a photo for evidence that you two sometimes do get along and that Aiden loves and adores his baby sister so much," He smiled and I tried to hide a giggle but ended up snorting.

"Or maybe I could show your many girls that love to leave this house half naked early in the morning your relationship with your sister," His grin became wider making me wonder how it still fits on his face.

"You wouldn't," Aiden blurted.

"Oh but I would, I might even print it out and have it printed on a canvas for everyone to see when they come around," I think our brother is enjoying this way too much.

"Don't you dare."

"Well if you want this to stay between us then I want you to do yours and Athena's chores for a week"

"That's not fair."

"Okay well, I'll just upload this photo on Facebook."

"That's blackmail."

"Oh my, I guess your right little brother I suppose it is. So is it working?" I couldn't help but laugh.

I am absolutely loving this, I honestly couldn't give a damn if that photo got out but my brother wanted to look manly all the time.

He doesn't want people to know that he actually has a soft side. He acts mean towards me but to be honest, he's more protective than Austin.

Aiden's friends know this so to wind him up they like to flirt with me sometimes in front of him which always riles him up bringing the protective big brother out for everyone to see.

Then when they coo at how cute it is that he acts this way he throws a tantrum saying he's a man.

"I guess I'm washing up after tea then," Aiden grumbled before storming out of the room avoiding both of our looks.

"Well, that was a lot of fun," My brother chimed in putting his phone away.

"I agree," I stood up and walked over to him.

"Well little Rae, today is sibling day so eat your pancakes. I bought drinks and crap for us to munch on whilst we watch films all day," He grinned.

"What about training?"

"You can save that for after school tomorrow, it's your day off so come on or I won't let you pick a film first," He teased.

That was enough for me to run out of my room and down the stairs like a flash of light, the sound of my brother's laughter coming from behind me.

I love movie days.
