Chapter Twenty One

(Lexi's POV)

We were sitting in a crowed cafe, hidden away in the corner.

A boy who looked like he was fresh out of high school sat across the table from us, drumming his fingers nervously on the wood. Even in the dull lighting I could see the acne covering his skin.

"Calm down Stu, its going to be okay," Jason assured him, showing a caring side to him that he didn't show to often. "Do you have what we asked for?"

Stewart nodded quickly before almost flinging an envelope across to us. Jason passed him the money, the moment he received it he was sprinting out of the cafe.  I raised an eyebrow at Jason.

"Obviously he doesn't do this very often?" I asked.

"Usually his dad is the one that meets us, but he's away." He replied, opening the envelope. Inside was a single key.  A key that apparently opened that door that would give us everything we needed.

Checking the clock and noticing that it was time for us to leave, I took a big  gulp of my hot chocolate before standing up. Jason followed suit, grabbing my hand as we walked through the crowd.

To most it would look like we were a couple, enjoying a breakfast out. But to those why looked closely, they would see the way his hand didn't naturally fit into mine or the way we didn't automatically full into pace with each other. This was forced, and anyone with experience would see it.

We headed out towards the front of the cafe, I pulled my leather jacket on, enjoying the sense of power that it gave me. As we headed towards Jason's car, I noticed a group of rough looking men standing around it. All of them wearing matching leather jackets, displaying gang signs that I had never seen before.

"Do you know them?" I asked pausing mid stride, unsure if we should get closer or not.

"They're the local gang, they probably recognise my car from some of the street racing I do around here." He pointed out.

'Do they know you for good reasons?" I questioned, concerned by the way that he had stopped also. It was at that moment that the group dispersed, all heading in different direction.  I noticed a couple heading our way, I pushed Jason around the corner trying to think quickly about what I was going to do.

Lucky for us, Jason wasn't wearing his leathers so to anyone it looked like he was just another dude.  I on the other hand was displaying my gangs sign. I couldn't help but growl internally about how dumb it was of me.

I could hear them getting closer, I was afraid that they would spot him and then a scene would be caused. That was the last thing that we wanted.

Grabbing the top of Jason's jersey I rolled myself around so my back was pressed against the wall. "Do you trust me?" I whispered, he nodded quickly. Just as the two guys walked around the corner and passed us, I pulled Jason down and brought his lips to mine.

Instantly he kissed me back, his hands getting tangled in my hair. I heard one of the dudes pat Jason on the back, muttering "good work" before leaving us in peace. We stayed like that for a while, I told myself it was because we were stopping the gang from seeing us, but I couldn't help but have enjoyed the kiss a little bit.

When we pulled apart, I checked the cost was clear before sprinting over to Jason's car. With out saying a word he jumped in the drivers seat and sped off, hopefully none of them followed us.

"That was interesting," Jason said, breaking the silence as we headed away from the cafe.

"It was the only way I could cover your face." I tried to sound professional, like my stomach din't have slight butterflies. I frowned at myself, why was I having this sort of reaction?

"What ever you say," He smirked, as if he could tell I was uncomfortable with what just happened. We sat in silence as we made it far enough away from the cafe, that we were no longer worried about being followed.

"We need to get a new car, I don't want to have to worry about them whilst we are in the middle of our plan."

He rolled his eyes, before turning up the radio. "Change the subject why don't ya,"

We sat in silence again as we headed towards to storage garage. Jason has promised me that all the equipment we needed was here. He had arranged for it to be there.

We pulled up to lines of grey and black storage sheds, stretching as far as I could see. The gates automatically opened as we drove close. Jason steered through the aisle, obviously knowing where we were going. When we reached shed 222 he stopped, cutting the engine.

Grabbing the key, we both stepped outside. It was still only 11 in the morning, so the place was quite quiet. I had only seen one other car when we entered. Unlocking the roller doors, we heaved them up. I gasp of shocked escaped me, when I saw what was sitting in the middle of the room.
