Why does everyone keep telling me that?

Hi everyone! So a lot of people have been asking about when I'm gonna update, a few very persistently and a little intimidatingly😂 I appreciate that you guys are so passionate about my story but please chill a little with the borderline death threats in my private messages😂 it's all good and well tho, I just thought I'd let you guys know that I've decided to try update every 3-4 days just so you don't have to stare at your computers all day waiting☺️ thanks for all the support!

"Is Adren gonna be here to?" I whispered to Chris. A part of me wanted her here so I could hear what exactly the story she had told Ms Dwyer was, but at the same time, that would make me sound bad again so it was probably best that she didn't come.

"I'm not sure" Chris shrugged. Ms Dwyer had told us to sit down in her office then left. She had officially been gone for about 10 minutes. "I think she's still at Nathen's place from last night so maybe not" he continued.
I frowned and turned to look at Chris completely, "Nathen's house? Are they together now?"

"I doubt" Chris laughed humorlessly, "I think they were both just bored".
"Yeah, tell yourself that" Lucas murmured.
Despite my better judgement, I allowed myself a small glance at Lucas, his eyes were firmly on the wall behind Ms Dwyer's desk. There was no way he didn't see me look at him from the side of his eye, but he didn't move a muscle, his arms remained loosely folded and his eyes stayed glued to the wall.

I looked back at Chris who was glaring at Lucas, "dude, what is your problem?"
"I don't have a problem, don't get pissed at me cause your girlfriend likes to fuck anything with a heartbeat and a penis" Lucas shrugged.
"I couldn't care less what Adren does, what I wanna know is why you've had a stick up your ass since yesterday" Chris pressed.
Lucas didn't answer and I couldn't have been more thankful. I didn't want anyone to know what I did, having Lucas hate me for it was bad enough, being judged by the whole school would be too much.

"Alright!" Mrs Dwyer marched back into the office at the perfect time, she closed the door behind her then stepped around her desk and took a seat. "Now, I think we all know what this is about" she began.
Chris and I nodded but Lucas sunk back into his seat and stared across his shoulder at a cabinet draw rather than at the the person sitting right in front of him who was trying to talk to him.

"When I heard about what had happened I just couldn't believe it, and I still to this very moment don't completely believe it. I know Adren and you aren't very good friends Blakely so don't worry, I have a pretty good idea that a lot of what she told me wasn't quite accurate".

I let out a small sigh of relief, whatever Adren had said happened would've been bad, having Ms Dwyer believe it would be the worst possible thing that could happen right now.
"So that's why I brought you all here, and that's also why Adren isn't joining us. I want to hear from all of you what happened on Saturday, and I want the truth" she continued, "Blakely why don't you begin?"

I let out a sigh and nodded slowly before beginning, "I guess, it was just a communication thing. Chris and I were managing the money together but we didn't really plan out how we'd do it, so after a couple of hours at the car wash I went to ask Sammy or Adren about how much they had made before I arrived, but some stuff went down and I got really frustrated, so I gave Chris the money bucket then Lucas and I left" I attempted to recall that day as best I could, but it felt like a completely different lifetime, I couldn't believe it was only 4 days ago.

"Where did you and Lucas go?" She asked as soon as I was finished. I looked at Lucas who still looked completely unbothered and disinterested, what I said wouldn't matter to him so I just decided to be honest, "we went to the lookout".

Both Ms Dwyer and Chris raised their eyebrows, "the lookout?" Ms Dwyer asked, "the one with all the trees covering the view?"
"That's the one" I nodded with a sigh, when she said it like that I realized how pathetic it sounded. "Okay" she frowned nodding slowly, "why did you go to the lookout?"
"I was stressed ou-" Lucas suddenly cut me off and surprised everyone in the room.
"It was my idea, the car wash was boring and Blakely likes me so she would've followed me off a cliff if I asked".
